8 | Female Fatale

BEN' S POV
*A week later*

I can't stop thinking about her.

Luci.

She's.. Consumed my mind more than Claudia has as of recently.

That day.. A week ago when I held her in my arms it was like holding Claudia all over again.

Maybe I felt a false sense of comfort. It wasn't her and I know it wasn't her, yet I can't seem to shake this feeling..

"You're quiet this morning." Athena brings up.

We're currently walking to a meeting being held in this massive building. It's at least 30 stories, with only 3 exits. If we ever needed to escape, the only way out is down. I just have to figure out a way to get Luci and I down, quickly.

Luci shrugs, "I guess i'm tired." She replies.

Luci hasn't spoken as much since that day in the hallway...

Not that i'm complaining.

"Right.. Anyways, where's this meeting supposed to take place?" Athena asks.

"In this room." Spade stops in front of the door.

The sound of talking and a faint sound of laughter can be heard from behind the doors.

The talking and laughter sound a bit off though..

It sounds... Feminine.

Spade opens the door and the talking ceases.

I was right.

It was a meeting room filled with females.

Everyone stands and Spade walks in, the three of us following.

Spade sits and so does everyone else. Athena sits to his left while Luci sits to his right. I stand directly behind Luci's chair.

"Nice to see you again Alec." The woman at the other end of the table speaks first.

"As well as you, Kai." Spade replies.

"Let's get started, I have places to be." Kai leans back in her seat.

There's a tension in the room, yet I don't know if it's sexual or pure hatred.

"As well as I. Meet my daughter, Luci." He gestures toward her, Kai nods in response. "As you know she's going to be taking over for me soon, so we might as well let her know everything in one go.. I have to do this with 3 others today.." Spade mumbled the last part.

"Okay.. But first, who's that?" She points towards me.

"He's Ben Williams, Head General and Second in Command of the Italian Mafia." Spade introduces me.

I'm not quite sure who this lady is so I nod in response.

I feel like i've seen her before, but I'm not quite sure where...

"Excuse me, Ben.. But do you know who I am?" She asks me.

"No, I don't.. Should I?" I ask in response.
