BEN'S POV
"You all are aware of your positions?" Athena asks us.
"Yes.. When does this end?" Casey asks her.
"1 most likely.. Though I don't think it matters. You'll be doing your job either way." She retorts.
"Don't let this small slither of power get to you head." Casey furrows his eyebrows.
"Excuse me?" Her voice was laced with venom.
"I don't believe you were the one Spade said was in charge. Not only are you disrespecting her, but you're disrespecting Spade." Caleb told him.
"You should be lucky you're even on this trip. You're just proving children shouldn't work with adults." I say, my tone one of disappointment.
In the Italian mafia you're taught to worship and take care of woman. It's honestly shocking to see those who don't.
"Sorry.." Casey apologizes, taking a step back.
"Moving on.. As soon as you lay your eyes on who you're assigned to, it's game time. Got it?" Athena continues.
"Yes ma'am." We all respond.
"You're all dismissed." She waves everyone away.
Caleb, Casey and I stay back with Athena to put away the plans.
"Try not to get distracted by the princess, yeah?" Athena tells me.
"I can separate work from feelings." I reply.
"Right.. That's exactly why you two ended up fucking. Because you're great at that." She retorts.
"What??" Caleb and Casey say in unison.
"She's just talking." I grumble.
How the fuck does she even know that.
"So you haven't?" Athena stops gathering papers and raises her eyebrow.
"What I do with Luci is none of your business." I defend.
"So you have?!" Caleb and Casey say in unison again.h
I groan in annoyance.
"Admit it!" Athena pushes.
"Ask Luci." I reply.
"I did." She replies.
My eyes snap towards her and she smirks.
"You're lying." I shrug once I realize she is.
It's hard to explain but she does this thing where she looks away a couple times to the left.
She sighs loudly.
"At least tell me." Caleb speaks up.
"I'll tell all of you. I. Didn't. Fuck. Luci. Got it?" I tell them.
*A few minutes later*
"Uh.. Yes.. Why?" Luci asks.
"I KNEW IT. You're as good as dead Ben." Casey yells.
"This fucking family." I pinch the bridge of my nose.
"Yeah. But it's yours." Athena shrugs.
