BEN'S POV
*A few days later*

Elijah decided to attach the Italian mafia to the American mafia.

So both mafia's will be attending.

Cynthia restricted them from having more than 15 people on security.

While my team has 40 people, and Caleb's has 20.

Cynthia insisted on locking down on this event.

She doesn't want what happened at the auction to happen here.. Even though she was the one who invaded, there's really nothing stopping the American mafia from doing the exact same thing.

Cynthia called Caleb, Athena and I into her office.

Luci has been glued to her side so I can only assume she'll be there too.

Athena, Caleb and I entered her office and my suspicions were correct.

However.. Luci was tied up.

"I just wanted to give you all a little reminder!" She brings out a remote. "I understand that your earlier counterparts are going to be here.. I also understand there's been some resistance and unauthorized communication."

"Hey-" Athena gets cut off by one of Cynthia's men grabbing her and gagging her immediately.

She struggles against him and my eyebrows furrow.

"My sweet, sweet daughter.. Did she drag you into this?" Cynthia asks Luci, pulling down the cloth in her mouth.

"What's going on?" Caleb asks cluelessly.

"Answer Luci." Cynthia spits.

"N-No. That's why i'm here." She responds.

Athena struggles against the man more as he holds her tighter.

"You had nothing to do with this right Ben?" Cynthia turns to me.

"What's going on Cynthia?" I ask, genuinely wanting to know.

She grabs a handgun from her dresser and points it at Athena.

"What are you doing?" Caleb gets serious.

"They're traitors. Traitors need to be dealt with." She grits, before pulling the trigger.

She ends up shooting Athena somewhere around her shoulder and her abdomen.

Athena quiets down a little, yet the noises that do escape are more hurting.

"Athena are you okay??" Luci asks quickly.

Cynthia quickly pulls up her gag, before sighing heavily.

"Take them both downstairs. I want the chip in Luci's neck as well." Cynthia demands.

"Now is that really necessary.." I interject.

"Is it necessary," She mocks, "Are you siding with the Americans?" She asks me.

Caleb looks at me, and so does Luci.
