BEN'S POV

"So.. You're leaving me?" My younger, annoying sister Mia asked busting in my room like the damn police.

"For work. Yes." I reply, closing my suitcases that are currently on my bed.

"..You're leaving today though. You couldn't have told me earlier? I could've planned a 'going away' party for you." she furrows her eyebrows.

"We just confirmed the deal yesterday. I-"

"What deal?" She cuts me off.

"A deal with the American's.. For an alliance I have to protect Spade's daughter for 6 months. Since she so badly wants to work beside her father." I explain.

"Uh, so why haven't I been told about this even when it was just an idea?" she asks another question.

"Because, I know you'd want to come with me and I really don't want you to."

"Why not?"

"Cause' you're fucking annoying." I say in a harsh tone. "Now get out you shitty excuse of a sister."

"Ouch. You know words hurt." she says holding her heart like she's in pain.

"My foot up your ass will hurt more though. You'll be shitting size 12's for a year." I scowl.

"Loser. Don't leave without saying goodbye to Claudia." Mia says before finally exiting my room.

"I already did.." I mumble to myself.

I said goodbye to her a year ago, and yesterday..

It's hurts more and more talking to her everyday, and I know she can't answer back.

I miss her.

I take my suitcases off the bed and check to see if I forgot anything.

Nothing.

I head downstairs and to the kitchen to get a snack. My flight doesn't leave for another hour or so..

"Hey Ben, I heard you're leaving." Vee says walking up to me.

"Yeah.. Only for 6 months. I should be back in no time." I reply grabbing a bag of chips.

"We're going to miss you." Greyson says walking up with my beautiful niece in his arms.

Emilia.

"I'll miss you all too. Especially you." I smile, tapping Emilia's nose.

She giggles and my heart melts.

"When does your flight leave?" Vee asks me, leaning against the counter.

"In about an hour. I'm leaving for the airport in 15 minutes." I reply.

"Said goodbye to everyone yet?" She asks another question.

"Nope. I'm actually going to go find Elijah and Lilah right now."

"They should be in his office. Make sure to knock before walking in." Greyson informs me.

"Yeah, I know." I roll my eyes.

I hug Veronica, and then Greyson.

I give Emilia a kiss on her forehead and head for Elijah's office.

Greyson has gotten more mature with Emilia around. He wants to be a good father and it shows. He is a good father, and i'd actually trust him with my life now.

Not that I didn't before.. It's just Grey was a little questionable a year ago.

When he's on missions he get's serious and stays focused..
