As the morning sun shone upon the Ursus slums, the constant chatter of the songbirds went throughout the entirety of the slums. This constant chatter is what many would call mother nature's alarm clock.
"Ugh...Why'd it have to be so early." The complaining came from one of the many makeshift tents in the slums.
And from inside of the tent came a young man, a Pythia to be exact. He was no older than the age of twenty. He had greyish black hair that flowed down to just under his shoulders. He had a pair of obsidian black eyes that were darker than the depths of the ocean. His ears had an elven like appearance with it being elongated but wouldn't be noticed due to the fact that his hair covered his ears. Then came the most defining trait of the Pythia race, his snake-like tail. It mostly black, with blue highlights that ran across the sides and the tip of his tail had an orangey red hue. The flashy colours on his tail is not something that is totally unheard of but it was certainly an uncommon occurrence for his race.
"Seriously, why'd I think that it was a good idea to spend the night out here." He continued to complain as she walked down the empty streets. "If only it weren't so hard to find a comfortable place to sleep in this country."
The young man continued to walk down the streets of the slums until he eventually was back into the main street of Ursus where the middle-class citizens would spend most of their time.
An Ursus man walked up to the wandering Pythia and began to ask questions. "Hey buddy, why're you here? Ya looking for a job or somethin?"
"Eh, Kinda just kinda enjoying the sights around here." He shrugged.
"Hmm. You sure? You just walked out of the slums. Nobody really leaves that area unless they are looking for a job." The Ursus man scratched his chin as he continued to speculate.
The young Pythia could only sigh as a response as he stared at the Ursus man dead in the eye. "I am an explorer that has also dabbled into different hobbies/occupations...So no, I don't need a job. I'll be fine."
The Ursus lowered his head. "Oh. I'm sorry...Well then, have a good day." He hurried off, leaving Yuki alone in the middle of the street.
"...Poor guy. Must be hard starting a new business." He muttered.
After a bit of aimlessly wandering around the city and looking at the poor state that this city was in, he hastily made his way to the city gate. He didn't want to stay in such a place where infected are treated worse than garbage. But when he arrived at the gate, there was a crowd of people that was not too far from the gate. Curiosity taking over Him, he began to make his way to the crowd of people.
After a bit of pushing, he got to the centre of the crowd and saw that there was a single city Guard arguing with a Red haired Lupo in a hoodie with a facemask and she had a group of people behind her.
"Can you just let us through...We don't want to be held up any longer. We don't want any trouble." The Red haired Lupo tried to reason with the guard.
"Nonsense. Infected like you are always looking for trouble." The guard snarled.
The Lupo glared at the guard. "Don't make me take drastic measures to get through. We wouldn't want to cause a mess, wouldn't we?"
"Like you have the guts to do that in broad daylight." He gave a mocking smirk to the Lupo and her gang.
"Tch. Fine then. Have it your way." She reached into her jacket.
He really didn't want to deal with a bloodbath, so he decided to walk out of the crowd and speak up. "Alright alright...Let's break it up now!"
