*BOOOOOOM*

A thunderous boom shot through the sewer system of Lungmen where both Swire and Yuki were within.

Swire bent over and she covers her ears and exclaimed. "What was that!?"

"Lets...Lets just check the water supply quickly and see what's wrong first." Yuki's heartrate quickened as anxiety began to rise.

"Right, we're already here after all." Swire shakily got to her feet and began to climb up one of the ladders on a water tanks.

As for Yuki, he could see the thin layer of algae and running water that was flowing down the sides of one of the water tanks. "Swire! I think that we're dealing with more than just a potential corpse. There seems to be a leak!"

"Yeah, I know!" Swire shouted back. "I can see that, and I sure as hell can feel the slipperiness of the algae on my hands!"

"Just trying to help." The Pythia let out a huff of annoyance. "Swire, you nearly up the top?" Yuki pointed his flashlight up in Swire's direction.

"Yeah yeah, I'm up the top." Swire's voice echoed through the sewers. "Woah!...Umm, could ya come up, we have a slight situation here."

"Huh? Okay, I'll be right up!" Yuki hastily climbed up the ladder of the water tank, trying his best to not slip on the algae covered ladder.

"A-Ah! Yuki! Could you come up a little faster!?" Swire screeched as she almost tumbled off of the water tank.

"Jesus woman! It's all slippery. I'm not trying to bash my head open." Yuki eventually rushed up to the top of the water tank to see Swire with a baton in hand.

"Catch!" She tossed another baton to Yuki. "We've got a lot of company."

From within the many water tanks came hundreds of many spiky originium slugs. These slugs were around the size of a medium sized dog and was covered in sharp black spines as they glowed a bright purple.

"These sewers are huge, why couldn't I bring my scythe!?" Yuki exclaimed as he batted a slug off the water tank.

"Look, I'm sorry. can we just talk about that later." She pleaded. "Can you please just like dissolve them with your arts."

"That's not how it works." He swatted yet another slug away. "It doesn't dissolve, it paralyses."

"Well can you get to paralysing! My handbag is going to get dirty." Swire dodged one of the sharp spines of the slugs.

"No can do. Too many of them. Gonna run out of juice before we deal with them." Yuki rushed to Swire's side and pulled her to the ladder of the water tank. "We gotta retreat, There's too many."

"But-"

"You see those blackwater slugs? Yeah, they are masters at appearing from any solid surface, we will get way too overwhelmed." Yuki proceeded to go back down the ladder with haste. "Hurry up, the sewers aren't gonna last very long if there are that many."

"Ah, hold up!" Swire soon followed. "Wasn't that big boom earlier the sewer collapsing?"

"Yes, it was, now if we hurry, we might be able to find a way out before we get even more stuck in here." Yuki's pace quickened.

Everywhere their flashlight shone, showed more and more slugs slipping through the cracks of the old sewer's floors, walls, and roof. Constant wet thuds and splashes echoed through the sewers as the slugs fell from the roof. It was at this point that the whole sewer system glowed a bright purple with the sheer amount of slugs that slipped through the cracks of the sewers.
