SUSIE POV
My ragged breaths echoed throughout the cave's walls. I somehow managed to dodge Yuki's attack.
I don't know where I am. That...Primal Yuki chased me deeper into the cave. For all I know, he could be following me, waiting for the perfect moment.
I guess after all that running has really worn me down. I can feel my legs ache more and more with each step I take.
*Drip...Drip...Drip*
"Ah my hand..." I said slowly.
I guess all of that adrenaline has gone to my head. So much to the fact that I forgot about the hole in my palm. My blood still trickled down my fingers as I loosely held my arms to my side. My drift beacons were the only source of Light that I had and as I grew weaker from blood loss and fatigue, the light from my arts became dimmer and dimmer.
I really should have listened to Yuki's advice...He had everything under control. I'm sorry Yuki...I really am.
Within the dark corridors of the cave, I could hear every little sound. My footsteps, my ragged breathing, my blood dripping onto the cold floor and...Running water?
My ears perk up to the sound of running water. If I am going to be stuck here for a long time, I might as well spend some time to recuperate. At least then, I'll be more prepared to deal with...That.
And so, I began to trace the walls of the cave, following the sound of the flowing water.
As I walked down the halls, I felt my consciousness slip for a second as my body began to give way to the fatigue.
*Thud*
As I my body impacted the cold stone floor, all of the lingering pain in my body began to erupt into an unbearable feeling.
"N-No...I need to keep moving..." I winced as I slowly got up, using the wall as a support.
The light from my arts got dimmer...I was slowly but surely losing grip of my arts, my only support being my staff and the walls of this cave that I'm lost in.
I don't know how long I've been walking for, but all I know is that if I want even a chance of living; I need to move and tend to this gaping hole on my hand. Eventually I arrived at where the water source was located.
"Wow...What is this?" I said in wonder. Only for a second I could forget all the pain in my body.
It was a large room in the cave where on the roof, there were hundreds of tiny blue bioluminescent dots that gave the whole room an undertone blue. The water poured out of a hole in the wall into a relatively deep pool. As for the pool itself, it was decently sized, around the size of your average hot tub.
But my wonder was cut short by the harsh reminder of the searing pain in my left hand. I didn't even waste a moment as I rushed over to the pool of water and began to wash all of the blood, sweat and dirt out of the wound. The cool water soothed the pain momentarily. It felt so refreshing, my hands had never felt better.
But the relief was short lived it was only for about five seconds before a searing pain began to shoot up once again.
"Argh!!" I clutched my hand tightly as I felt the pain follow my bloodstream up my arm to the rest of my body. "N-No...I can't be." My drift beacons fell to the floor as the pain caused my focus to slip as my muscles seized up, I fell to the floor.
*Thud!*
As I fell, the water began to stir as somebody slowly began to rise out of the water. It was Yuki. His hands still had claws and his eyes still looked empty. His neck snapped towards my direction as he locked eyes with me.
*Step...Step...Step*
He slowly walked closer to me and crouched down near my face, he opened his mouth, revealing his sharp fangs as he got closer and closer to my neck. His warm breath brushed past my neck as my mind went into overdrive. And thus I began to plead for the real Yuki to return.
"I'm sorry Yuki...Next time. If there is a next time. I will listen to you. I know better now. I'll do as you say. Please, just one more chance. I want the real Yuki back...Please come back to me...Please...Do it for me...Do it for the people who care about you. Do it for the people who you care about." I said as a tear trickled down my cheek.
Yuki seemed to hesitate for a second as he got back up and looked me directly in the eyes once again as a crazed smile appeared on his face.
"Shhh."
After that the Primal Yuki began to lean back into biting my neck with his sharp fangs, ready to finish the job once and for all. Just as I felt his sharp fangs pierce into my skin, leaving a drop of blood to trickle down to the cold hard floor.
I let out a guttural scream as it echoed throughout the entire cave. Suddenly a bright pink light engulphed the whole room.
*BOOOM!*
My ears were ringing as I felt the effects of Yuki's arts wear off. My vision was blurry as the last thing I saw was the shattered pieces of one of my drift beacons, glowing in the distance.
Then everything went Black.
