Y/N's Pov:
It was now 4pm I had went down a couple of hours ago to go eat breakfast with mom and dad as they were still unpacking a few items they needed to take out. As I went upstairs to get dressed and was done, I came downstairs and made my way onto our light brown couch I sat down and couldn't stop thinking about Katie. I had many friends back at home, in fact I has a friend group of 5 including me 6. Donna, Linda, Mary, and Dot, Katie, and of course me. I thought of all the fun times we all used to watch have sitting on a grassy hill down at our local park with daisys planted on it watch sunsets. And how Donna would always be talking to me about this guy in her algebra class that she thought was so cute while painting my nails. Linda and I stuffing our faces full of chocolate while looking through one of her magazines. Shopping with Mary at the mall looking for cute new outfits and things we didn't even need. Dot and I would always have sleepovers while doing each other's makeovers, and I loved going to the beach with Katie as we would build sandcastles at the beach and splash each other with water till the sun went down.
"What are you thinking about Kiddo?" My dad Walked over to the couch sitting next to me. I sighed, "Oh....just thinking about my friends." My mom came in the door way of the kitchen wiping the inside of a cup with a towel that my grandmother have given her. "I know Sweetheart and it's going to be a big change for all of us, but like I said you'll make new friends. Who even knows maybe you'll meet some cute boys." My mom said, smirking. "MOOOOMM" I said, grabbing a pillow hiding my face in it. She chuckled, "just jokes." "Phew." My dad said, as I lifted my face out of the pillow, I shook my head playfully smiling. "When you say change, do you mean when you had to leave your book club and friends [Your moms name]?" My dad asked, my mom raising an eyebrow grinning. My mom walked back into the kitchen placing the cup she was wiping on the kitchen counter, "yes that too." She said, walking next to my dad as she playfully punched his shoulder. I giggled, I was a very lucky girl, my parents were so gentle and understanding. They were like two teenagers taking care of another one "I love you guys." I said, hugging my mom and dad. Before I knew it there was a knock at the door, "I wonder who that could be?" Dad said, as he opened the door. Me and my mom walked to the door and that's when I saw her, "Hi my name is Sherri Valance!" She said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. She was beautiful, "I'm your next door neighbor and I heard you just moved here. My mother was wondering if you guys would like to have dinner with us tonight? If that's not a problem." She said, smiling before dad could say anything mom said, "We would love too!
Thank you so much." My mom said flashing her pearly whites, "What time did you have in mind?" Dad asked, Sherri "Is six okay?" "Perfect!" mom said, "[Your dad's name]." Dad said, handing his hand out to Sherri as she grabbed it and shook it. "[Your moms name]." Your mom said, as she shook Sherri's hand as well, "It was lovely meeting you Mr and Mrs.....?" "[Last name]" You told Sherri, Sherri Smiled. "It was great meeting you all, see you tonight." She said, walking away from the door as she looked back at me waving and smiling as I did so back.
