The summer went by quick. Too quick realistically. Beth wasn't getting any better, she was getting worser by the day.
She would often wake up throughout the middle of the night so everyone had to keep watch of her.
Natasha woke up to Beth gasping for air "Nana! Marmee" the two ran in with wet towels and medicine for the girl while Natasha held her hand
"Everything's alright Beth. I'm here" Natasha whispered.
Rory usually sat up the whole night crying. She didn't know how long she had with her sister but she denied the thought of having to go through life without her.
Rory had a fat argument with Jo before she went to bed. It made her feel sick to her stomach.
It was Rory's turn to lay with Beth. Beth was fast asleep while Rory rolled over to her "please fight" she whispered to her sister "please" she pushed the hair out of Beth's face "all I ask of you is to hold on till the end. And then we can play the piano and we can all sing in our death tone voices" Tears were falling "I don't wanna be here without you".

Rory woke up that morning to see Beth out of her bed. She sat up to see her surroundings. Nothing had changed.
She tried to convince herself that Beth would be down stairs eating breakfast. Like last time. Exactly like the last time.
Rory couldn't contain her tears. She ran down the stairs "Beth! Marmee!" She ran to the kitchen "mum" her voice broke
Marmee turned to reveal Beth's chair empty. It was weird seeing Beth's chair empty. You could feel her presence gone from the room.
Rory looked down at her feet hoping she would wake up from this nightmare. This wicked wicked nightmare.
As soon as she felt Marlene's arms wrap around her she let out a sob. Marlene was also crying "I'm so sorry" Marlene knew the closeness of Rory and Beth
Rory sobbed into her sisters shoulder. She couldn't catch her breath.
Natasha was refusing to walk into the room. She sat in the living room staring at Beth's piano. She felt the need to see Beth sit down and play a beautiful melody.
Her father was sitting with her, they were in silence grieving over someone who they felt was there. Meg sat next to Natasha. She grabbed the girls hand.
Meg looked around "she wouldn't want us sitting here" she sighed in pity. She tried her best to keep it together "we can't keep on staring at her piano"
The sound of Rory's sobs echoed the house. That's what broke Natasha. She stood up shaking her head "I can't stay here" she cried walking out of her house.
She started walking away when she saw a familiar face at the bottom of the road.
Sophie.
Sophie's eyes were red and puffy. She nodded walking to Natasha "I'm so sorry" she grabbed hold onto her best friend as the girl cried.
