Xavier and Alcina didn't get much sleep that night because they decided the two of them would plan, decorate, and throw a party at the pack house. They would invite the pack and any alpha's an hour away from the pack, and announce they would have an heir. Something also seemed to be tugging at the back of Alcina's mind. Something about this pregnancy made her extremely hopeful. Most mated couple have a child within weeks of meeting. Her and Xavier, however didn't even mate for a month. Things seemed to be speeding along at werewolf pace for once.

Xavier mind-linked the entire pack to announce he wanted them in the garden at 7 sharp tonight. Alphas order. He then split a list of twelve alphas with Alcina and they began making the calls from their separate offices.

"Good morning, alpha Logan. I hope your day is pleasant." Alcina greeted when the phone was picked up. "This is Luna Alcina, from red dawn."

"Ah, good morning Luna. May I ask what the early call is about?" The voice greeted back.

"Yes, alpha Xavier and I will be having a party tonight at 7. I was wondering if you and Luna Florence would like to attend. It's to celebrate our upcoming wedding." This was what she and Xavier had agreed upon. It wasn't an entire lie. They did plan to get married after the baby arrived. Mindlessly rubbing where a small bump would soon grow, Alcina waited for a reply.

"Hmm, yes of course. We would love to attend. My little Flo loves any celebration. What time did you say?" He questioned. Alcina didn't fail to notice the nickname for his wife. She must be in the room with him.

"7 o'clock tonight." She replied. They said their goodbyes and ended the call. Moving down the list, all six said they would attend. Flipping the paper over Alcina noticed one more call for her to make. The elders. They decided pack laws and a century ago were used as counsel for the royal family. The king died during the witch war and the queen grieved herself to death over him. Now packs ran as the alphas saw fit. Hardly listened to the laws the elders set forth. Alcina picked up the phone and dialed the number, waiting for someone to answer.

"This is elder Damien." A gruff voice answered.

"Elder Damien, this is Luna Alcina, from red dawn pack. I was calling to inquire about your attendance for the night. Alpha Xavier and I are throwing a party and-" She began to explain until he spoke.

"Luna, good. You and Xavier are required to come before the elder counsel by three this evening. We wish to discuss something of serious importance." He interrupted.

"Of course, elder. I will inform the alpha now." She replied and hung up the phone. Suddenly her stomach was a ball of nerves. She went straight to Xavier office and walked in. However, when she opened her mouth to speak she was hit by a sudden nausea and ran to the bathroom, slamming the door.

"Are you alright, my dear?" Xavier asked through the door. After purging her stomach Alcina stood and exited the bathroom

"The elders wish to meet with us. Now." Alcina said and Xavier started pacing around the room. After a moment he began to actually make Alcina dizzy by pacing so she stood in his way.

"I'm sure everything will be fine. Let's go get ready. We have two hours to get there and it's a forty five minute drive." She assured him and pulled him to their room. After thirty minutes Alcina stepped out wearing a black pencil skirt that reached to her knees and a lavender colored silk top. Xavier dressed in black slacks with a black button down with the sleeves rolled halfway up. Alcina caught herself admiring the man before her. Xavier cleared his throat, causing Alcina to blush and look away. This earned a chuckle from Xavier.

"Feel free to look whenever you want my sweet. My body is yours to admire." He kissed her head and pulled her from the room. After a forty five minute drive north, they arrived at the counsel house. It was a large mansion that could easily be considered a castle. The home was built with red brick and had at least ten windows in front. It looked as though it was made for a noblemen. Alcina read in her research that it was once home to the royal family. Now every few years packs came together to elect 10 elder males who either had no mate or whose mate had passed on and they lived here.

They stepped out and were immediately greeted by Elder Damien and two others. Alcina couldn't remember their names.

"Alpha, Luna, you remember elder Ezekiel and elder Josiah. We are glad you could make it." Elder Damien greeted and shook Xavier's hand. The other two nodded in acknowledgement.

"Yes, well, a summons from the elder counsel is hardly a request." Xavier replied quickly. All three elders nodded in agreement and headed inside. After a few twist and turns they arrived in a large room with ten throne like chairs. Three of which were unoccupied. The three elders that greeted them went their separate ways before sitting in the three empty seats. The room was filled from ceiling to floor in white and gray marble with crimson red chairs that resembled thrones. It's had minimal decor with only white curtains over the three windows in the room. Lights were hardly need with the large skylight in the center of the ceiling.

"Alpha Xavier Blackstone, Luna Alcina Grey, we, the counsel, have called the two of you here for a very important task." The elder in the center began.

"After careful counsel with many seers, and careful discussion among us elders, we feel it is time to relinquish our roles as leader to the rightful king and queen." Elder Damien stated next.

"If you are confused and curious, that would be the two of you. We have long awaited your return." Elder Josiah finished and they all stood from their chairs before kneeling on one knee and bowing their heads.

"What? What are you talking about? The royal bloodline has been dead for a century." Xavier was taken aback by their actions. They all stood and elder Ezekiel took time to explain.

"Before her death, the former queen was visited by the goddess. The goddess told her not to fret, because the royal family would return ten fold when the wolves needed them. She said that we would know them by how they look in wolf form. The beasts should compliment each other and symbolize balance." He stayed before pulling out his phone. After a few seconds her turned his phone to show a video of two wolves circling each other. One white with a black patch on its eyes, and one black with a white patch on the same eye. They looked like ying and yang circling each other. Keeping balance.

"You are our leaders and the wolves need you. There is a war coming and we all must be ready." Elder Damien said before leaving through a door to the right. All the elders followed and the couple took it ask indication to follow as well. In the next room portraits lines the walls side by side. One had a man and woman standing together and the next had two wolves identical to Alcina and Xavier's wolves. Underneath each portrait was a brass plaque with two names.

The very last portrait looked to be at least a thousand years old. Before the names read, King Johnson Blackstone and Queen Lunabelle Greyhound. Alcina reach out and ran her fingers over the plaque. The first queen founded her home pack. She thought for a moment.

"It says Blackstone. I thought the royal family died? Shouldn't the name have died too?" She inquired looking to the elders.

"The direct family yes. You see, the first king and queen only had daughters so the family name changed when they married off and the name died out. However, alpha Martin, Xavier's father, found their family tree when he was young and changed the family name back when he became alpha." An elder with salt and pepper hair answered. "Will you tell accept the throne and the duties it requires?"

"This is a very big decision. You can't expect us to choose in thirty minutes. Running a pack is one thing, but running all packs? I don't know." Xavier answered with a deep frown. His forehead began to wrinkle as his thoughts spiralled.

"We do not expect the answer today. Within a fortnight will be fine. Now run along you two. You have a party which we will be in attendance for so there better be booze." Elder Ezekiel ordered and they left at once. Thoughts swirled between the two over what they should do.
