A few days later Alcina was in their room playing with the babies when Xavier and Isabelle came in.

"Alcina, I have something I want us to do. Izzy is gonna watch the boys." He said taking Lucien from the bed.

"What do you mean? Where are we going? We were napping, babe." She whined as Xavier picked Lucas up and laid him in the bassinet next to the bed. He grabbed her hand and carried her to the bathroom, sitting her on the toilet lid. He left the room for just a moment and returned with a pink shirt and black leggings. After slipping her shoes on, Xavier tied a blind fold over her eyes and picked her up bridal style. For a few moments she could feel the breeze as he carried her somewhere unknown. Finally she felt him stop and place her on her feet. When he removed the blind fold Alcina blinked, adjusting to the sudden brightness. Once her eyes focus she saw a beautiful house before her. A rock house with large open windows, a wrap around porch, and a small flower garden out front. It also had a two car garage and a swing set with a tree house on it.

"Xavier, oh my goddess. What is this?" She asked staring in disbelief.

"This is our home. I had the construction teams put all other jobs on hold since the wedding. They've been working day and night so we could have a home of our own. Come look." He said kissing her cheek and pulling her inside. The entryway was a warm grey with accessories to make it look more like a home.

He continued to pull her along while searching for a specific room. Once he found what he was looking for her stopped in front of a door and smiled looking at Alcina.

"Look inside." He said stepping to the side. She opened the door to reveal a beautiful blue nursery with wolves adorning the walls. There was a moon shaped light, tree wall stickers, and dark purple curtains. In the room was a white rocking chair positioned between the two cribs and the boys names above their bed.

"Xavier." She gasped and covered her mouth. "This is perfect."

"Come on. There's one more room you have to see." He said and pulled her across the hall. Pushing the door open, he revealed a bedroom for for royalty. There was a queen size bed with a light blue duvet and a grey comforter with white pillows. At the end of the bed what a dark purple settee chair. She could see three separate doors that she assumed hid the closets and bathroom behind them. On the other side of the room was a plush looking couch with two matching arm chairs and a mahogany coffee table in the center.

"I felt that since we have a family it would be nice to have a space of our own." He said wrapping his arms around her from behind. "Do you like it?"

"I love it. Xavier this is perfect. The boys will have a place when they become alpha. You are perfect my dear." She replied, turning in his arms and giving him a peck on the lips. Everything was perfect as far as the happy couple could see. A few hours later they were sitting in their new living room with Isabelle, Bentley, and the twins, watching a movie while Alcina breastfed Lucien. They looked like the perfect family. A few hours away on the northern border, the witches were dealing with the barrier and succession of their queen.

"Let's be clear. I won't live forever Elvira, and you won't live for long after me. We need to plan who will take the throne since I have no children." Queen Marie explained sitting behind her desk and looking at different files on the witches.

"Melisa of the east coven is a good witch. She could be a choice." Marie said passing the paper to her queen.

"She's barely sixteen. We can't ask her to lead the world of witches." She said sitting the paper to the side.

"What about Eli? Why not choose our nephew?" She asked looking at her queen. Marie thought hard for a moment. She then shook her head.

"You saw Alcina's coronation, Elvira. Do you really think that the witches will accept him?" She said raising her eyebrows.

"I think maybe Alcina was right. It's time for change. It's time the packs and covens try to make peace and get along. We're already halfway there with most of the packs as allies. Maybe it's time to make it official for all covens and packs." She explained hoping it would make sense to her queen. Queen Marie seemed to ponder this for awhile before nodding.

"You may have a point. We will announce it to the covens in the morning this way we can deal with any uprisings before he's coronated." Marie answered and began to put away her papers. Her succession had been dealt with, now to strengthen the defenses. "And the border? How are everything going with the gaps?"

"The western coven has asked for assistance with their gap and the eastern coven has verified that their end of the barrier is secure. The barrier here in the north is starting to weaken, so the spell needs to be recast soon." Elvira reported.

"Send Alex's group to the east and have Darien verify the eastern coven. Also I want you, Eli, and Charity to recast our spell." She ordered and Elvira nodded before leaving the room. Marie set back and sighed. Lifting her hand she noticed it had begun to shake violently. Marie knew that within the next six years her coven would have to learn to live without their long time queen. She may not look it but Marie was well into her fifties and had begun feeling the effects of aging. A coughing fit took hold and brought her from her thoughts. A few seconds later she gasped and wiped her mouth, looking down, she saw the blood lightly spattered on her hand. Her life was running short.
