10. The Party

After arriving back home Alcina immediately went to the kitchen for a small snack. Usually she wouldn't eat more than three meals a day, unlike most wolves, however she felt like she was starving due to the new pup she was carrying. After grabbing a quick bite she ran upstairs and showered before dressing for the party. Since it was a warm fall night she settled for a light blue summer dress and tan wedges. Running her hand across her stomach she felt a little knot bellow her belly button.

"Hello, my little bud." She said rubbing the knot. She hadn't seen many pregnant she-wolves so she wasn't sure how quick things would move.

"Hmm. My little warrior. Xavier said coming into the room and placing his large hand over her stomach. He closed his eyes and listened. With their enhanced hearing they were able to make out the quick rhythm of their child's heart. Everything was falling into place until Alcina noticed a strange noise.

"Xavier? Can you hear it too?" She asked looking at him in the mirror. His brow furrowed slightly and he added a small amount of pressure. With the room completely silent Alcina focused hard and listened. Finally she gasped and began to tear up.

"What is it? Is it what I think?" Xavier asked turning her around.

"Sage? Can it really be?" Alcina asked her beast.

"Yes. There are two pups. Not one. We're having twins." The wolf replied and Alcina looked at Xavier smiling.

"It's twins." She answered and he picked her up and kissed her while doing a quick spin. The two moved to the couch in the room and cuddled, talking to their children until six thirty came and they made their way to the garden. They walked around the garden, straightening decorations and shifting food around to look a bit more presentable until guests began to arrive. Alcina and Xavier spent the next forty five minutes greeting guests and exchanging small talk before feeling as though everyone was present.

"Hello and welcome, neighboring alpha and Luna's, elders. Tonight we are here to celebrate something. My perfect mate here has agreed to have a traditional wedding ritual on the first new moon of the new year." Xavier announced and looked at Alcina. She smiled and stood tall before stepping forward slightly and clearing her throat.

"We would also like to say that we are with child. Happily expecting twins." The small cheers that had broken out silenced and everyone listened. Once both heart beats could be heard the crowd erupted in cheers of joy. Even the elders seemed to be giving a round of applause to the couple. The celebration continued well past midnight before Alcina finally felt the exhaustion over takes her and bid the guests goodbye.

Alcina trudged her way up the stairs and into her room before stripping off her dress and shoes and putting on one of Xavier's shirts. They lay down too tired to be frisky and quickly fell asleep. A few hours later Alcina woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep so she decided to get familiar with her current condition. Grabbing the laptop that was provided when she became luna, she flipped it open and began to search for any she-wolf/pregnancy related articles.

Female wolves begin to show at two months and deliver at seven months. Female may become very protective and not allow other females around. For the last three months she will begin nesting and may even build a small nest like bed for the labor process. During labor and the last two weeks of term, mates should be together.

At the last month, the she-wolf will begin to be very possessive over their mate, attacking females they do not trust. The first two weeks of a pups life it must NEVER be separate from it's mother. Twins bring an increase and earlier start to all symptoms which can begin as soon as two months. Should any complications or unexpected bleeding occur, call your doctor immediately.

Xavier growled and rolled over patting Alcina's spot in bed. When he couldn't locate her, he sat up looking for her.

"Are you alright my queen?" Xavier asked getting out of bed.

"Fine, just couldn't sleep. I decided to do research instead. I know nothing of being a mother." She replied not looking up. He came and sat next to her, reading all the research she found until the sun came up and they got dressed and tended to their alpha and Luna responsibilities. Knowing she needed to get her work done, Alcina took breakfast, brunch, and lunch all in her office. Well after five in the evening Isabelle came to fetch her for dinner saying the alpha refused to eat until she was at the table.

The next day was filled with paperwork and phone calls from other packs to congratulate her or Xavier on their heir.
