"When did this happen?" I asked Hunter as I stared at the report. I couldn't make myself read the entirety of it knowing that Matt was the victim.

The thought of my parents being bad people was already heavy as it is but them doing it to Matt added more.

"I think that happened before you left the country." Hunter shrugged.

My eyes widened and I froze. That was the time when my parents forced me to leave the country because somebody broke into our home. I started breathing heavily... those lies that they told me.

"Do you want to see the pictures?" Hunter asked softly. "Since you're still not reading the reports, maybe the pictures will show you how bad this is."

I nodded slowly while my hands were shaking. If this happened before Matt cheated on me, what did Matt do to them for them to do this Matt?

Hunter handed me the photos and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I flipped one of the photos.

It was a photo of Matt lying in a hospital bed, I couldn't even recognize his face because of all the cuts and bruises.

Tears started pooling in my eyes as I stared at the picture. What did they do to you, Matt?

I closed my eyes again and handed the photo back to Hunter, my tears were falling from my eyes. "I can't handle this..."

"I know this is hard for you, Catria, but this is the truth about your parents." Hunter patted my shoulder. "Inside that folder is not just the written report but also testimonies of Matteo Torre and your parents' henchmen. Those who kidnapped Matteo Torre and those who broke into your home before."

I felt like my world stopped when Hunter mentioned the people who broke into our home years ago. They also planned that?

It was their idea to scare me like that? After all the trauma that those men inflicted, it was all planned?

"No... They didn't do that," I told Hunter and turned my gaze at him. "They didn't."

Hunter sighed. "Go home, Catria. Go home and read those. My office is open if you need my help," he said with a soft tone like how he talked to Hailey before.

"So... Matt has a testimony here?" I asked. "He knew that it was my parents who kidnapped him?"

He nodded. "Your parents tortured him. They're the ones who gave him those cuts and bruises. I remembered Matteo mentioned how your parents were blaming him for their ruined plans for you."

I bit my lower lip to stop it from trembling. Ruined plans? What ruined plans?

"He told me that he was begging them to stop and let him go but they didn't... They held him captive for 10 days."
