Chapter 66

I woke up to the weird smell of cleaning materials and medicine and when I opened my eyes, the room's bright lights welcomed me.

Am I still alive? Why am I still alive?

My hand was shaky but it went straight to my chest where my pendant is usually placed. My heart raced when my hand grabbed nothing.

I sat up immediately while still feeling my chest because my pendant wasn't there. My heart was beating faster as my hand made its way to my neck to check if the chain was still there but my blood ran cold when my pendant chain wasn't on my neck.

My chest became heavy and I was trying to catch my breath but memories of what happened to me started coming in. The motorcycle, the empty road, the electric post, my car... I know that I lost consciousness but someone was calling my name.

Matt was calling my name desperately... I was ready to die but I heard his voice.

Or maybe that's what I wanted to hear. My mind wanted to hear that for me to survive.

I closed my eyes to calm myself down... I'm alive... I'm alive but I'm sure that they are after me.

"Oh, you're awake. Thank God," I heard someone say. "Is everything okay?"

My eyes opened and I turned to the door. Hailey was there smiling sadly at me, worry was evident in her eyes.

"You're here..." I trailed. I thought she was in Europe.

"Yeah! When kuya said that you've been in a car accident, I rushed here immediately to check on you." She smiled kindly. "I'll just call the doctors."

Hailey left me alone and after a few minutes, a doctor, who was really familiar to me, and two nurses entered my hospital room and they started examining me. Hailey stood near the door while watching the doctors.

"Are you still together?" I asked the doctor because I was certain that he was the boyfriend of one of Matt's friends, I was just not sure if he was Blair's or Daphne's.

"Oh, you still remember me," he said and chuckled. "It's Sky Valente if you already forgot and we broke up... several years ago."

I just nodded... So after Matt and I parted ways, Matt's friends also became single. 

Axel and his girlfriend stayed together because I remembered how whipped Axel was.

"Will my cousin be okay, Dr. Valente?" Hailey asked Sky.

He nodded and smiled making his dimples appear. "Right now, she's stable and her health is improving."

"Where are my things?" I asked him. "I was wearing a pendant when I got here and it's an important pendant."
