I blinked several times as I was looking into Matt's eyes. "What?"

He took a deep breath. "Hindi ko alam kung kailan nag-umpisa pero matagal na kitang gusto kaya hindi ko kayang magkagusto sa iba kahit pa ipagtulakan mo 'ko."

My heart was beating fast with his sudden confession and I had to look away because his eyes were distracting me. I didn't know what to say so I kept my mouth shut.

He gave me a sad smile. "Sabi ko nga sa'yo lahat ng gusto mo gagawin ko pero maliban dito. Hindi ko kaya." He kissed my forehead. "Babalik ako bukas, 'wag mo na lang masyadong isipin 'yong sinabi ko. Bukas, sana magkaibigan pa rin tayo." He turned his back and started walking away.

"But... I don't want to be friends anymore if you like me that way," I said but it was almost a whisper.

I wasn't sure if he heard me but he stopped walking away and turned around to face me. "Ano ulit sinabi mo? Ayaw mo na makipagkaibigan sa akin?" he asked in disbelief.

"I mean if you like me too. Then, let's stop being friends because I want us to be more than that." I looked away because I didn't know where I got the guts to tell him that and my courage was fading away.

"What?" Matt asked me with a confused look on his face.

I pouted because I gave my all in saying that but it's like he didn't understand what I just said. I looked at him again. "I like you too."

He just stared at me without uttering a single word. I couldn't read his face because his expression was just blank.

"Uhm... Matty?" I said and poked his cheek.

He blinked several times. "Tama ba 'yong narinig ko?"

I frowned. Seriously? This guy! "What did you hear ba?"

"You like me." He blinked again and he had a confused look on his face. "You like me?"

I rolled my eyes jokingly because it was like I confessed to a rock. His expression was cute but I just confessed! "Yes!" I rolled my eyes at him because he was slow.

"You really do?" he asked again like he wasn't convinced that I do like him.

"Yes." I looked away again because my heart was beating fast. "Do you really like me too? Or is it because I'm always around?"

"Sabi ko nga, hindi ko alam kung kailan basta naramdaman ko na lang at hindi dahil ikaw 'yong nandyan."

"So what are we?" I asked him. "Technically, this isn't platonic anymore."

"I don't know..." he said and sighed. "I don't want to make a move that I'll regret, Cat."

My forehead knotted and I felt disappointed with what he said. "Why would you regret it?"
