What had they all planned in the 3 days of being here? She stopped asking herself that when she stubbed her toe on a brick step
Ouch! What in gods creation; Summer said
Sorry; Henry said and looked at Maddy who was giggling
Francis lifted the blindfolds off and Summer sat in amazement
Whats this; Summer asked
Our home; Henry said
Summer squealed like a little child and threw her arms around Henry still in her dress. The house was a wooden cabin with redwood podiums and brick steps, there were white fences laying around and an outlook to the lake
Where did you find it; Summer asked
Well, Elizabeth did. Sherriff gave her a clue as to where there was a home buil but nobody used it. The last family left state; Francis said
Can we go in it; Mason said
Yes buddy; Summer said and they went up the steps holding onto the rails
When inside, Summer sat in awe as there was a huge quilt rug lying on the floor next to a fireplace with two rocking chairs and a mini chair that seemed to be for a child. Summer went into the first backroom which had a bed and a nightstand big enough for any kid, she then went into a door next to the kids room and it led to a pile of stairs which she climbed. It was a library on the right and a big bedroom on the left
We figured you would like books; Elizabeth said
Thank you; Summer said running to hug her
The kitchens down that hall; Henry said as they went down a hall on the top floor. Not much space but she loved it. There was a dining room and a stovetop for her to cook on instead of using the fireplace. The eating area overlooked the backyard and it was incredible
Our home; Summer said somberly
Do you like it; They all asked
Yall gotta stop speaking in tongue; Summer laughed
Sorry Ma'am; Francis bowed
I love it; Summer said hugging everyone
One more thou, thats Ambers dress honey and you can keep it; Elizabeth said
Do you need to make me cry much more; Summer asked making the room light with laughter
We should go. Getting late and we will be right up the road if yall need anything; Elizabeth said
Summer bent to hug Maddy and let Piggy in before they left. She then put Mason down in the bed where he longed for a nap and finally went upstairs to embrace Henry. Summer nestled her head in his neck as she saw him cooking
Never knew you been one to cook; Summer smirked
Learned it from my mama; Henry laughed and kissed Summer
Whats the first thing we should do in our home; Summer wrapped her hands around his waist
I got a few ideas; Henry twirled her around
Summer was in love with him. In only the few weeks of knowing each other, they were married. She didn't want it to end. Everyone was happy. Sitting down at the table, she began to write in her journal while humming "Way down by the river". Once Henry was done, he served her a bowl of soup and kissed her cheek, she set the book down then looked at Henry who has soup all over his face like a little kid
Your messy; Summer laughed
I am not; Henry said
Summer got up and wiped his face with an apron then he pulled her into his lap. Their noses connected and they stared there for minutes staring into each others eyes. She then kissed him on the forehead and went back to eating her soup.
I love you; Henry said
I love you more; Summer smiled at him
After supper, they lay together embracing each other with warm flesh then coddled. Summer had a coughing fit earlier but Henry thought it was because of the soup and she was grateful he didn't think anything of it. Suddenly, Summer heard snoring and looked over at Henry who had his mouth agape snoring like the cows were grazing and she stifled a laugh before falling asleep by his side
