They stopped the wagon at a small town. Before leaving, Summer cut off all Henry's hair to make him unnoticeable but he kept his hat on
Mucin; Summer read the town name
Summer scanned the town around after helping the children off the wagon and tying the horses to a podium. There she saw something that peeked her interest, it was a store
I'll watch the children while you go get directions and maybe we can stay the night for a bite to eat; Henry said holding Madisons hand while Mason jumped on his shoulders. Summer had to laugh at this because for a man who didn't like kids, it was adorable
Be careful and don't kill them; Summer said
I won't; Henry said stifling a laugh
Summer went inside the store and there were rows of books
Looking for something, young one; A man at a desk asked
Passing through town and the journey can be long. Was wondering what books can pass time; Summer asked and the man came over
Here; he said and handed her a book
Whats it about; She asked as she weighted the book
Its called "War of Roses". Its a book that has a description about war and love. Takes people a while to read it and by the time you get to where your headed, it could be finished; The man said
How much?; Summer asked
Take it and take some of these too for the kids. I saw you have two young ones; He said handing her some pencils and books for the kids
Thank you, so much; Summer said
If your looking for a place to stay. They wont have anything but my Wife and I have an extra room. We are the smallest cabin in town and the only one with a hole in the door; He said
I would really appreciate that; She said and gave another Thank You before leaving
Summer almost ran into Henry while leaving and faceplanted into his chest
Are you okay; He asked
Yes Im fine; She said holding back pain
They don't have anything; Henry said
Come on; The old man said
What; Henry asked
Your little ones seem hungry, names Bob; He said talking to Henry
They watched as Bob closed up his shop and lead them downtown to his place. One thing Summer could not get used to was that people were super nice in the north and she feared what people were like out West
