Chapter 3: Party

*Kayla's POV*

Today is a party for my sisters birthday and I didn't want to dress up at all but she said for me to dress casual so I did. I was getting ready when the doorbell rang I didn't get up so I figured Cameron got it. But it rang again. "KAYLA ANSWER THE DOOR!" My mom yelled. I sighed and put my makeup down. I opened the door and saw the Grier's standing there all dressed up.

"Hey guys just have a seat on the couch next to Cameron Im not done yet." I smiled letting them in. "Kayla." I turned around and saw Hayes right behind me. "Yea?" I asked continuing my way upstairs. "Nice flannel." he said and followed me. I went to my room and put on my mascara. "Alright let's go." I said grabbing his hand. We went downstairs and saw everyone looking at us.

"What?" Hayes asked standing next to me. "Does Hasss have a girlfriend?" Nash asked wiggling his eyebrows. "NO NASH OH MY GOD!" He yelled which made me jump and fall down the stairs. "Im so so so sorry Kayla oh my god I'm really sorry." He kept saying helping me up. "Don't worry it's fine." I said standing up.

"Let's just eat." I said guiding him to the kitchen. "You met my family before right?" I asked and he nodded. "So your going quiet again?" I asked and he just looked at me. "Nope." he smirked and grabbed my hand. "Uh." I said and ate. "sorry." he said and moved his hand. I grabbed it again and continued to eat. "It's fine don't worry." I said. We ate and laughed and then went outside.

"Hey Hayes I was wondering why were you so quiet?" I asked as we sat down on the steps. "I... Uh... Kinda l-like y-you." He stuttered and I smiled. "Aw Hayes I like you too." I said hugging him. "Your a cutie." I said poking his cheeks. He laughed and I turned around. "No stop, Toby stop." My Sister yelled as her boyfriend was chasing her with her birthday cake.

Hayes got up and got me some dessert. "Thank you." I said and started to eat. "This day is going to fast." he said wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "I know." I said and rested my head on his shoulder. "Nash can you take a picture of me and Kayla?" He asked. "Sure thing dude." Nash said and took Hayes's phone.

We took a nice one and a cute one and a silly one. He posted the cute one which was him hugging my side and me laughing while he kissed my cheek.

"My friends want to meet you." He said and I know who he's talking about. The bullies of the school. "You know it's fine don't worry I mean we aren't dating so it's fine." I said brushing it off. "No I want you to meet them." he said sternly. "I met them already and they met me." I said rolling my eyes. "How?" He asked. "Uh I don't know their my bullies." I said looking down. "Hey I'm here now it's fine." he said hugging me. He rocked me back and forth and then lifted me up.

I rolled my eyes at him and smacked him. "Ow." he cried and ran away. "See what Ya did Kayla." cameron said and followed him. "Kayla can Hayes play with me?" Skylynn came over to me and asked. "Of course." I said and pushed Hayes away. I got up and walked inside and helped clean up. All my family basically left so it was just the Dallas and Griers left.

"Oh honey you don't have to do that." My mom said. "Okay." I said and walked outside. I sat down and saw my sister and her boyfriend having fun and I'm here like a loner until these arms wrapped around me and I freaked out and grabbed the arm and flipped the person over. I noticed it was Hayes and I helped him up. "Im so sorry Hayes I didn't know it was you Im really really sorry." I said hugging him.

"It's fine can you help me clean up?" He asked and I brought him to the bathroom. I cleaned up his knee and his face. "Uh I think I have a cut on my lip?" He said pointing to it. "Yea you do let me fix it." I grabbed a cold towel and dabbed it. "Thats not what I wanted you to do." he said and looked down.

"GRIERS LEAVING NOW." Chad yelled which caused Hayes to run downstairs but run back up and said goodbye to me and everyone else. "Ugh school tomorrow." I said and fell asleep in my bed with my ginormous teddy bear I named Jonny after my little cousin who gave it to me.
