Chapter 9: School days

*Kayla's POV*

"KAYLA!" I heard someone yell. I turned my head and saw Hayes. "Hey." I smiled. "Can I walk you to English?" He asked. "Yea sure." I said and we walked to English. We sat down and since we were watching a video Hayes sat in the desk next to me. After the video we just talked. "Kayla isn't taller than me what are you talking about?" I heard Bryan say. "Kayla stand next to Bryan!" Jorge said.

"Wow your the same height." he said. After that I went to my locker and sure enough Jake slammed me into it and I cut my arm on the hook. "Hey what's your problem!" Hayes yelled. "Hayes don't just leave it alone." I said and walked away. I got to class and looked at my arm. "Oh god!" I whispered but Katelyn heard. "What?" She asked. She looked at my arm and raised her hand.

"Yes Katelyn!" He asked. "Kayla's arm is bleeding." she said and I saw Hayes mad. "Alright Kayla do you need anyone to go to the nurse with you?" He asked. "Uh can Hayes come?" I asked and he nodded. "Are you okay?" I asked him. "Fine." he said harshly. "I picked the wrong person." I rolled my eyes and he stopped. "Fine I'll just leave!" He yelled and walked back to class. I got to the nurse and saw John. "Hey Kayla!" He waved.

"Hi John why are you here?" I asked. "I hurt my wrist." he said. "what about you?" I showed him my arm and the Nurse came in the room. "Hi I cut my arm in my locker and yea." I said and she looked at it. "Well your going to need a bandaid obviously." she laughed. "so take a seat." I sat next to John and he smiled at me. "Are you two a thing?" She asked. "No." We said. "Oh!" She said helping him first. "Hey I'll wait for you!" He said not getting up. "Its fine." I said but he didn't move.

She put this liquid on my arm and it stung. I felt someone grab my hand and I squeezed it. She put the bandaid on and I left. John was still holding my hand and I let go. "Sorry." he said. "its fine." I said. I walked into class and waved to John. Hayes came over with a pissed off look on his face. "Who was that?" He asked. "John." I said looking at him. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Hayes that hurts." I tried to let go but he put more force on it.

"Hayes please." I whispered. His face softened and he let go. "Im so sorry." he said hugging me. "Its fine you were jealous." I said. "CLASS IS OVER!" The teacher yelled. We walked to math and took the quiz. "Kayla can you help Hayes please?" She asked. I nodded and went to his desk. "Hey Hayes." I said and he smiled. "Need help?" I asked and he nodded. I helped him out then he put his quiz in the bin. We waited for the end of class and I did some errands for the teacher which took the whole period. "Kayla why can't I be as smart as you?" Hayes frowned.

"Hey don't call yourself dumb!" I said and we walked to lunch. "But I am." he frowned. "Hey stop it you are smart." I smiled. "Kayla I'm really not I'm failing everything." he looked really sad so I hugged him. "It's okay." I said and we sat down and ate. "Hayes!" I heard Jake yell. I rolled my eyes and he sat next to us. I got up and went to my friends. I sat next to John and talked to him. "Knock knock." "Who's there?" "Banana" "Banana who?" "Knock knock!" "Who's there?" "Banana." "Banana who?" "Knock knock!" "Who's there?" "Orange." "Orange who?" "Orange you going to the game tonight?" He laughed. "I have to." i laughed.

In science we took notes and I saw Hayes looking at me from his seat. Louis kept tagging me and I tagged him and it repeated. After that I went to social studies and we watched some movie that had nothing to do with what we are learning. After that I packed my bag and went to homeroom. I took attendance and grabbed Hayes then left.

AHHHHH GUYS IM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING😭!!!!! I have a lot in my mind because someone is going to ask me out and the carnival is open this Saturday and my friend from South America is coming home since she moved there last year! I'm so so so so sorry!
