Chapter 6: Football Game

*Kayla's POV*

Me and my friend Anthony were walking to the game and laughing. "Anthony the car." I laughed. "Thats the seventh time." he laughed. I have my volleyball shirt and shorts with converse. We sat on the bleachers and waited. I saw Hayes and he winked at me. I smiled and Anthony nudged me. "What?" I asked. "he winked at you." I laughed and looked back and saw Hayes get really pissed.

The game started and I got cold. "Are you cold?" Anthony asked handing me his hoodie. "Yea thanks." I said throwing on his hoodie. I saw Hayes look back at me and rolled his eyes. "Whats up with him?" Anthony asked. "I don't know."

It was the fourth courter and we had the ball. The quarterback threw the ball to Hayes and he caught it and ran. "COME ON HAYES YOU GOT THIS!" I screamed. He made the touchdown then ran to his team. After the game I gave Anthony his sweatshirt back then we started walking.

"HEY KAYLA WAIT UP!" I heard someone yell. I stopped and turned around and saw Hayes. "Hey." I smiled. "hey." he smiled but then looked behind me and got mad. "Who's that?!" He almost yelled and started walking over to Anthony but I stopped him by pushing his chest. "Stop he's just a friend." I said looking up at him. He stayed quiet. "Are you jealous?" I smirked.

"Hayes Grier never gets jealous." He said laughing. "Alright let's go Anthony." I said walking away. "No I'm coming with you." Hayes said putting his arm around me. "So you wouldn't mind if I wore his sweatshirt?" I asked grabbing his sweatshirt. Hayes clenched his jaw and gave Anthony the death glare.

We were crossing the street and almost got hit by a car. "Anthony the car again." I laughed. "Thats what the eighth time today?" He laughed and Hayes tensed up. We got home and Anthony walked the rest of his way home alone. I opened my front door and no one was home like usual.

Once I got insideHayes tackled me. "Hayes we aren't in football!" I said. "Give me a kiss." he said. "fine jealous boy!" I said and kissed him. "I wasn't jealous." he said back. "Hayes don't lie." He looked at me and smiled. "Fine I was jealous okay god." he said throwing his hands in the air which had me run away.

"So you don't care if I smell." he said sitting on the counter. "Nope." I said messing his hair up. "Good job today Mr. Football." I said smiling sitting next to him. "Thanks Miss. Volleyball." He said. "oh that reminds me I have practice Monday after school." I said. "So I should wait for you." He said. "You don't have to." I said reassuring him. "No I want to." he said. "Why so you can stare at the girls butts?" I laughed.

"Not all the girls just one!" He laughed. "And plus the football team wants to go because Scarlet is on the team and she is the "hottest" girl in the whole school." He said. "Yea but she doesn't even know how to play." I laughed. He laughed. "Do you want me to stay after school with you?" He asked. "If you want to." I shrugged. "Oh god!" He said and grabbed his things.

"What?" I asked. "I gotta go." he said rushing. "Where?" He smiled and looked at me. "Dirt Biking." He said then left. Um okay... "Ash wanna go for a walk?" He barked and I grabbed his leash and locked the door behind me. We were walking to the park when I saw Hayes and a bunch of other friends.

It's cool he lied to me it's cool. I don't really care. "Woah Ash calm down." I laughed and started running. I ran past them which I want planning but I did anyway and stopped. "Ash stop boy." I said pulling the leash a little. When there were no cars I crossed the street.

I didn't think about Hayes until his group stopped me from walking. "What!" I yelled. "Jeez chill I just want to pet your dog!" One of them yelled. "Uh how about no!" I said walking away. "Lets go Ash." we walked around town until I ran into Sam. "Sam?" I asked looking at him. "Kayla?" He asked.

"SAM!" I screamed and laughed. "Oh my god I haven't seen you since the last MagCon." he said hugging me. "I know." Ash barked and he looked at him. "Hi little one." he said crouching down. "This is Ash." I said. Ash started licking his face and I laughed. "Hey wanna hang out like right now!" He asked or said to me. "Of course." I said.

I turned around and saw the jocks looking at me laughing. Even Hayes was laughing and pointing at me. "Don't worry about them." sam said hugging me. We walked to the pizza place and yes I'm allowed to bring my dog places. We waited for the pizza so we just talked. We took a picture with Ash in it and posted it.

We ate the pizza then saw the jocks walk in and I stopped laughing and got up. We left and walked to Rushmore and got Arizona's. We left that store and went back to the park. We hung out and played with Ash and laughed.

After that Ash fell asleep so I picked him up and hugged Sam and walked home. As I was walking the jocks again started walking behind me so I picked up my walking and they did too. I made a turn and kept walking. I saw Hayes texted me so I stopped and opened it.

I didn't answer I just kept walking home then opened the door. Once I opened it I put Ash upstairs to my room on my bed. I took off my shoes and went downstairs. I started crying and Cameron came in and dropped the ice cream. "KAYLA WHAT HAPPENED!" He yelled sitting on the floor in front of me.

"I HATE HAYES SO MUCH!!" I yelled and the doorbell rang. Cameron opened it and Nash came in with oh yea the jerk himself Hayes Grier! I got up and went upstairs.

*Cameron's POV*

I saw Hayes there and I flipped out. I heard Kayla go upstairs. And I let them in. "Hey bro." Nash said and high fived me. "Hey." I said and I heard a door open. I ran upstairs and stopped. "You okay?" I asked hugging her. "No." she said. "I have to feed the dog." she said. I picked her up and I carried her downstairs.

Ash followed and I put her down. "Go feed him." I smiled. Hayes followed her but I stopped him. "Nope your staying with us." I said eyeing him. He looked confused but said okay. We sat in the couch and played video games. I heard sniffling from the kitchen so I got up. I walked in there and saw her on the floor with dog food everywhere.

"I'll feed him you go upstairs okay?" She nodded and went upstairs almost falling. "Is she okay?" Nash said coming in the kitchen. "No." I said cleaning up and cleaning up.

After they left I went upstairs and kissed Kayla goodnight then fell asleep.
