Chapter 5: Date?

*Kayla's POV*

Hayes texted me saying he's going to walk to school and I said it was fine. "KAYLA!" Cameron yelled. "Yea." I said as he walked in. "You look nice." he said. "Thank you." I said and left for school. We got to school and I met up with Hayes on the way to my locker. "Is that what your wearing to the date today?" He asked biting his lip. "Yea." I said laughing. "Why are you laughing?" He asked laughing. "Did you comb your hair today?" I laughed grabbing my comb.

"No." he said fixing it. "Let me help." I said combing his hair and he smiled. "What?" I asked. "You have to stand on your toes to reach my head." He laughed. "Lets go loser." I said grabbing my books. I grabbed his hand and grabbed the lesson plans. "We have a sub." I said walking into homeroom. "MR MURR!!" Everyone yelled. He took attendance but I took it again. The bell rang and I left.

"Today we are doing tug of war so line up girls tallest to shortest boys tallest to shortest." My teacher said. Of course I'm on the team with the kid that liked me since pre school. "Hey Kayla." someone said behind me. I turned around and saw Louis or as I call him my Taco Buddie. "Your on my team?" I asked and sat down. "Yep."

"Team five vs Team three." she yelled. "Hands on your knees.... ready GO!" She yelled and I picked up the rope and pulled. We won and waited. After that we came in first DUH! Then I went to second and almost fell out of the chair. The subs face was like a pealed potato. "SHANNON!" I yelled. "do you see his face." I whispered laughing. "Yea I'm trying not to laugh." she said.

"Get into your groups and complete this worksheet then hand it in and that's it." He said passing out the papers. Hayes sat next to me and I looked at him. "What are you doing here?" I whispered. "I don't like them." he said pointing to the 'jocks' of the school. "Oh just do your work." I said writing down the answer. Once it reaches 10 I handed in my paper and saw Hayes struggling. "Hayes calm down do you need help?" I opened his book but he shut it in my hands.

"Hayes." I gasped. "I got it nerd." He sassed. "Fine fail your classes I don't care." I said moving my seat. We left that class and I ignored Hayes the whole day. When homeroom came I sat down and took attendance then sat in the chair. The bell rang and Joe and John sat in front of me. Hayes still was there so I said something. "Hayes are you staying or leaving?" I said. He didn't say anything. "BENJAMIN HAYES GRIER ANSWER MY QUESTION!" I yelled and he jumped.

"IM STAYING KAYLA CLAIRE DALLAS." He yelled and I sat down. I helped them with their homework then grabbed my things and left. "AND WHERE DO YOU THINK YOUR GOING?!" Hayes screamed down the sidewalk. "HOME LEAVE ME ALONE." I yelled. I made my way home and slammed my room door. I sat at my desk and heard screaming from next door. I looked out my window and saw Hayes.

I guess we aren't going on a date. I did my homework and heard the doorbell ring. Im home alone so I have to get the door. I opened the door and saw fancy shoes with black pants and a tuxedo top then I saw Hayes. "Kayla I'm really sorry for being a jerk. It's just with my friends and the frustration it just got to me. Im sorry your the one I let it out on. And my parents want to come over for dinner. Sorry I'm dressed up I better change my clo-" I cut him off by kissing him. He pulled me closer and I pulled away.

"You have to shut up." I said laughing. He nodded and pulled me outside. "Kayla I know this isn't a great date but I need to ask you something. W-w-w-will you be m-my g-girlfriend?" He stuttered the whole thing. "Yea." I said. "Oh ok I get its cool its cool." he said walking away. "Hayes I said yes." I laughed and he ran up to me and picked me up and spun me around. "Your mine finally." he smiled putting me down.

"My family doesn't want to come over I lied I needed an excuse to come here." he said hugging me. I laughed and he looked at me. "My friends like you and I needed you to be mine so I asked you out now and please come to my game this Friday?" He asked almost leaving. "Not gonna miss it." I smiled. I turned to open the door but it's locked. "Open up." I said trying to open the door.

"Ash open the door. No not the kitchen no the door." I said looking in the window. "KAYLA." Hayes yelled. "I can't get in." I laughed. "Here use this." he handed me a key. It worked and I thanked him. I closed the door and stood there. "Thanks for the help Ash."
