We settled in a table, waiting for the waitress to take our orders. Last night was a riot, but I had still not been able to get any sleep in the car. Part of it was because Stephen was with us. I didn't want to be too careless and let him take us wherever he wanted. But as of now, he seemed to have good intentions. I wasn't betting on it to last though. He must've had a reason to come and help us. And everything he did, screamed that the answer was Leah.

The waitress arrived to take our orders.

"Ladies first?" Stephen asked me, smirking. I was about to snap back, when Leah answered.

"Thank you, Stephen." Her voice was sharp. "I'll have a hamburger and some fries. Jess?"

"The same, the same." She groaned, massaging her stomach. Damn, the girl had close to no ability to control her urges. Be it the restroom or food. God knows how Leah and her became friends. Probably because she came from a more affluent background, Jessica was less tolerant to hunger and waiting to use the washroom. Leah did come from an affluent family too, but her parents weren't that warm with her. At least that's what I gather from what she's told me. So, I don't think she's been all that too pampered. Me on the other hand....

"I'll have a hashbrown and some fries too, please." I told her.

"I'll have......" Stephen started. "A hamburger, a hashbrown, fries, pancakes with maple syrup and.... Some bacon. That's it."

All of us gaped at him. He shrugged. "I don't feel all that too hungry."

I couldn't even tell if he was joking or not. I hoped he was. Even the waitress seemed a bit surprised, but she shook her head and noted it down.

"Three hamburgers, four fries, 2 hashbrowns, a pancake with maple syrup and bacon." She repeated. "Beverages?"

Leah, Jessica and I went for coffee, while Stephen went for an orange juice. The waitress hurried away with our orders.

"So." Leah started. "Where are we going?"

Leave it up to her to get straight to the point. Just like her to do so.

Gosh, she looked so beautiful. Her large brown eyes on her face were just a shade darker than the waves of hair that fell past her shoulders. My thoughts wandered back to earlier that morning. When Stephen and I had stood outside the apartment, waiting for the ride.

I stood on the pavement next to Stephen. He called someone and spoke into his phone hurriedly. I caught only what he said into the phone. About someone owing him something. About them bringing him a car no matter where he got it from. A large and fast vehicle.

A few moments after he cut the call, he turned on me.

"Stay away from Leah." He growled. I was a bit taken aback. I hadn't expected that.

"What?"

"You know what I mean. Stay away from her!" He growled again.

"Why would I do that?" Why was I even having this conversation with him?

"Because I love her. And I'll do just about anything for her. Get out of my way." I chuckled, and his face grew angrier.

"Does she feel the same way though?" I asked, stepping closer to him. He towered over me. And was definitely much stronger than me, given my current condition. But still, my building anger made me do stupid shit. Who gave a fuck what he wanted me to do anyway?

"She will." He promised.

I clicked my tongue. "I don't think so big boy."

He was about to say something, just when the girls came through the front of the apartment.
