Miya Atsumu was never one to follow rules, however, the kids at his university thought of him and his rag-tag band of friends as complete nerds – goody-two-shoes, as Atsumu liked to say when he mocked them. Sure, they were smart but that didn't mean that they actually liked learning.
Atsumu was the younger of a set of twins, and, while his brother was often seen as the more rebellious one, it was actually Atsumu who was the troublemaker out of the two, but no one really knew that.
Atsumu was just starting his second year of university. He was pale-skinned with lots of freckles across the bridge of his nose and his shoulders. He'd bleached his hair platinum-blonde when he got to high school out of spite of his father, but he always had it styled in an undercut so that the bottom layer could be left his natural dark brown. His eyes were a fiery golden-honey colour that sported a type of hidden mischief, and with a tall, slim but toned build and soft features, he was always seen as the weaker of the twins.
Everyday, he would wake up early to meet up with his best friends, so that they could skate down to their university.
Atsumu loved skateboarding. It was one of the very few of his hobbies that his brother actually knew about.
Atsumu was part of a group of six best friends, who were practically inseperable.
The first was Bokuto Koutarou, a third year wildlife biology student at their university. Bokuto was an energetic ball of underestimated sunshine. With messy black, grey and white hair that hung over his forehead, and golden-yellow eyes, he was seen as a bimbo by the people at their university, but in reality, he was really smart. He had the tall, broad and muscled build of the professional volleyball player he was with the tanned skin of a former life-guard. Bokuto was like a second brother to Atsumu. They'd met during Atsumu's first year of high school.
The second was Kuroo Tetsurou, a third-year chemical engineering student with a hunger for anything science. A complete chemistry nerd with the grades to prove it, Kuroo was tanned, tall and muscled with messy jet-black hair that he never bothered to brush after he got up in the morning. His hazel eyes always held great intelligence and a hint of playful amusement. Kuroo was fond of creating chaos, unlike what the university thought of him as. He'd met Atsumu at a training camp in Atsumu's first year and was kind of like the blonde's third brother.
The third was Akagi Michinari, a second year visual arts student, just like Atsumu. He was the most reserved out of the group but still chaotic by 'normal' standards. Soft spiked jet-black hair framed his face, and his stormy grey eyes were set into fair skin. He was the second shortest of the group, but still above average in height. He was slender but well-toned, and his habit of wearing oversized clothing made him an easy target for being called a nerd. He met Atsumu in their second year of high school.
The fourth was Komori Motoya, a second year music and sound engineering student at their university, the cousin of one of Atsumu's biggest annoyances, and Akagi's boyfriend. The little weasel was just as tall as Atsumu with a similar build, only slightly broader and more muscled. He was lightly tanned with short chestnut brown hair and strangely round eyebrows. His steely-blue eyes were filled with mischief that he didn't bother to hide. Being one of Atsumu's best friends, he was always by his side ever since they met through Akagi in their second year of high school and he'd kept Atsumu company at a training camp.
The fifth and final friend in the group was a third year biochemistry student, Yaku Morisuke. Lightly tan with a slender but strong build, Yaku was seen as a ill-tempered demon, but he was actually sweet towards people he was comfortable around. He had fluffy strawberry-blonde hair and warm brown colored eyes that were always either amused or enraged by something. He was feared by most people in their university, even though he was the shortest of the friend group. He was the most responsible of the group. He and Atsumu had met back in Atsumu's first year of high school at the same training camp he met Kuroo.
At first glance, this group looked out of place – like they shouldn't be able to get along – but they actually had many things in common, such as their...'less than practical' hobbies.
They were a group of dancers who competed in an underground club. They danced under the name Manic, and were the unbeaten champions of the club. No one could top their performances.
Aside from the dancing, they enjoyed skateboarding around the city and tagging buildings with their group name in bright neon spray-paints. If they weren't skateboarding, they'd be running across the rooftops, trying to out-do one another with their tricks, or cruising along the highway in Kuroo's convertible, screaming at the top of their lungs to the music.
However, to their university, they were the kids that people laughed at in the corridors and tried to bully behind the university buildings. They were the kids who the professors favored and always listened during their lectures.
They had no care for the way people perceived them. As long as they could do their thing, they were perfectly content with their lives, chaotic may it be.
Though, with their first day back at university for the year, things were about to change. Especially when Atsumu's twin's group of friends make trouble for the troublesome group of dancers.
At the moment, the early morning sun found Atsumu sleeping peacefully. Well, right before his alarm clock went off.
Atsumu turned over and groaned, smacking his alarm clock off the table with a grunt. He let his thoughts drift off for a while before his eyes snapped open and he rolled off the bed by accident.
Grumbling to himself, he grabbed his phone and checked the date. His eyes went wide, and he immediately jumped up and rushed to his bathroom to go shower.
It was the first day of his second year at university, and he could not wait to see his friends.
