By the time training had ended, Foster had made his decision, and Atsumu was handed a contract to play the next season with the Black Jackals. To say that Hinata and Bokuto were ecstatic would be an understatement.
At the moment, they were in the locker room after their post-practice showers. Atsumu was waiting by the door, skateboard tucked under his arm and phone in his free hand, scrolling through his playlist while he waited for Sakusa and Bokuto to finish up.
"Woah, Atsumu, you skate??" Inunaki asked, starry eyed as he reached for the standard popsicle board under Atsumu's arm.
Atsumu nodded and handed him the board so he could take a closer look. He ran his fingers lightly over the shiny paint on the bottom of the deck. The fiery orange geometric fox decal gleamed in the bright lights of the locker room.
"Can you do any tricks?" Inunaki asked again.
Atsumu shrugged, "Yeah, jus' the simple stuff, I guess," he replied, but was startled by booming laughter from Bokuto.
"Tsum-Tsum, I swear, when are you going to actually acknowledge that you are amazing at what you do??" Bokuto teased as he ruffled Atsumu's hair before turning to Inunaki, "Listen, Wan-san, Tsumu has no idea what he's talking about."
Bokuto pulled out his phone and quickly opened Kuroo's Instagram. He scrolled down until he found the video he was looking for. It was the video that Kuroo had filmed of Atsumu on the wall when they were skating to the Hideout after their first competition with all six of them.
Inunaki watched as Atsumu jumped off of his board to vault onto a wall, did what looked to be a gymnastics floor routine on top of the wall before he did a round off and landed on the board perfectly, and, to top it all off, did a frontside-180 directly afterwards to correct his direction.
"Holy shit! That's insane!!" Inunaki complimented, "So, like, you do gymnastics too? That looked like a floor routine..."
Atsumu shrugged, "I did gymnastics back in middle school," he answered.
Bokuto shook his head and smiled, "There you go again with brushing off your talents," he chastised, "But I digress... Come on, Tsumu, your brother's probably going to be worried."
Sakusa stepped up next to them, his board in his hand, "Yeah, we should get going," he agreed, "I do not want to deal with an angry Osamu again," he added with a shudder.
Atsumu snorted and grabbed his skateboard back from Inunaki, "I still got some things to talk 'bout with him, anyways," he shrugged.
Bokuto grinned, "You have definitely got some news to share."
Atsumu slipped his phone into his hoodie pocket and laced his fingers with Sakusa's, "Let's go."
The song All My Friends by Snakeships played through Atsumu's headphones as they stepped out of the building. Atsumu shivered in the cold night air, so Bokuto reached up to ruffle his hair and pull up his hood.
Then, they were off on their way back home. They split up along the way, with Bokuto heading to his own house and Sakusa and Atsumu heading to the Miya residence.
Atsumu fished his keys from his backpack before he unlocked the door and locked it once he and Sakusa had entered. He heard voices from the kitchen and immediately moved towards it, recognizing Suna's bored, but not actually bored, tone and Osamu's monotone one.
Atsumu took a moment to grab the contract from his backpack, and with an encouraging nod from Sakusa, he made his presence known by clearing his throat. Osamu's attention instantly snapped towards Atsumu, where he was standing in the doorway.
"Tsumu?" Osamu asked in confusion, glancing up at the clock on the wall, which told him that it was half-past-eight in the evening, "Yer home early."
Atsumu smiled and gave a short nod before he stepped fully into the kitchen, "I thought that I should tell ya," Atsumu paused, glancing at Suna, who was sitting at the table, "Both of ya, this b'fore I tell anyone else..."
Osamu raised an eyebrow and glanced over Atsumu's shoulder at Sakusa, who was near the doorway, leaning with his back against the wall and his arms crossed over his chest. He gave Sakusa a questioning look, but Sakusa only smirked, shrugged and then beckoned for him to pay attention to Atsumu.
Osamu leaned back against the counter and looked at Atsumu expectantly, "What did ya wanna talk 'bout, Tsumu?"
Atsumu broke eye-contact with Osamu and offered him the sheet of paper that he was holding – the contract.
Osamu furrowed his eyebrows and took the offered contract. He read the words carefully, his eyebrows raising as he neared the ending of the contract – as he spotted a few signatures, one of them unmistakingly being his brother's.
Osamu was completely silent as he looked at Atsumu, who still wouldn't make eye-contact with him, and then at Sakusa, who just grinned and gave him a nod of confirmation.
Osamu placed the contract on the table for Suna to read as he stepped forward to wrap his arms around Atsumu.
"I'm so happy for ya, Tsumu," he praised, and Atsumu went rigid, "Mom would be so proud."
Atsumu melted into his brother's arms and reciprocated the hug as Suna gasped, "You're going to be MSBY's starting setter??" He asked excitedly.
Atsumu broke away from Osamu's hug and turned to nod at Suna, who grinned at him, "Congrats!"
Atsumu smiled, "Thank ya."
"When did ya trial for it?" Osamu asked as he sat down at the table next to Suna.
"Actually, we jus' came back from the gym," Atsumu answered, gesturing towards Sakusa and himself.
Osamu blinked, "An' they gave ya yer answer a'ready??" He asked in disbelief.
Sakusa chuckled, "Atsumu is just so good that our coach and manager couldn't let the opportunity slip," he explained, and Atsumu flushed under the praise.
Suna laughed but then his brows furrowed as a notification buzzed his phone. He placed the contract gently down on the table next to him as he reached for his phone.
Suna's eyes widened with excitement, and Osamu moved closer, "What is it?"
Suna looked up at him, "Uprising is back."

I have a question.
Why is the Miraculous Ladybug fandom so unhinged?? Like I read two chapters of a MariChat fic and the comments were so out of pocket that I couldn't stop laughing. 😭😭😭
I thought the Haikyuu fandom is weird, but those people are a different breed💀💀
Also, it's my birthday today 😝✌️
Anygays, rant over, bye!
