"I remember" Those simple words made Sakusa's skin go cold. The color drained from his face and he felt as if his knees might give out from underneath him.
"Y-you remember" He asked, his voice was barely a whisper, so soft that he himself could barely hear it, but Atsumu despite his lingering headache, had very sharp ears.
"Yes" He said, wiping sweat from his forehead and hugging Sakusa closer, as if trying to comfort himself. " I remember...everything."
A sharp pain exploded in Sakusa's chest, but he ignored it, looking down at Atsumu's blonde hair. "Will you tell me."
                           .  .  .  .  .

Sakusa had heard that while being in love is the best thing that can happen to a person, it can also be the hardest, but he had never really understood what that meant. At least not until this one momemt. Now he sat with his arms around Atsumu, and listened. He listened to the story of twins who had grown up watching there father fall apart, broken by the memories of his lost wife. To how the two boys had tried to reason with the man, to get him to stop spending money that he didn't have. To how despite there best efforts they had failed time and time again, until eventually all the money ran out. How the twins had been forced to get jobs at the young ages of ten just to put food on the table, while there father still sent people to search for a woman that would never be found.
He listened to how they had one day come home to find there father seated at their rickety old table with two large men. This time he had traded something much more valuable then money in order to find his wife. It turned out that the two men were key providers for the slave trade. One of them had happened to be a bounty hunter once, before he had gone into the dark business of slave trade. It just so happened that he was willing to work in exchange for a couple of healthy young twins, who could live out of the rest of there days in some old mine, digging for rubbies or gold.
To how they had been dragged out of their home before they even had a chance to plead with there father. To ask him to think things through.  They're hands had been tied, and then they were thrown into the back some old cart. And after what had seemed like hours had stopped. Atsumu's twin had managed to break free from the ropes, but Atsumu had hit his head. His brother had carried him as he ran away, but there escape had been descovered, and during that time Atsumu had been dropped, and then everything had gone black.
                          .  .  .  .  .  .

"When I woke up....you and your cousin were there." Atsumu's eyes filled with tears again, and Sakusa pulled him closer to his chest. Anger boiled within him. No matter how much the man had wanted to find his wife, trading his children was inexcusable. If Sakusa ever got his hands on the man he was going to tear him apart.
For several long moments there was only silence, that was occasionally broken by the sound of Atsumu's gentle sobs. He sounded tired, but there was something else to. Something that Sakusa recognized as fear. Fear so deep that it was almost impossible to ignore it. "Atsumu." He said softly, his voice barely a whisper. " I-i can help you find him if you want,.... Your brother."
Atsumu's crying stopped and he looked at Sakusa with a greatful expresson. "You would do that for me."
Sakusa looked at the smaller boy fondly reaching down and grabbing his hand. " Anything. Anything you can think of, I will do for you." He hasn't really meant to say that, but the words had rolled off his tongue, as if they were meant to be spoken.
Atsumu whiped at his eyes, brushing away the few remaining tears. "Thank you Sakusa" He said, a small smile crossing his lips. " That means a lot to me." With that the smaller boy leaned his head on Sakusa's shoulder snuggling close to him.
"We'll start looking tommorow" Sakusa said directly into Atsumu's ear, but the blonde had already dropped into a dreamless sleep, a small worried frown having replaced his smile.
Sakusa reached down, gently running his fingers through the smaller boys hair, smiling when he mumbled in his sleep. He didn't want to lose this person. The person that he could no longer deny his feelings for. The person who light up whole rooms just with his smile. The person who's laughter could rival the singing of a siren. The person that Sakusa needed.
No, he wouldn't be able to bear losing Atsumu. He wouldn't be able to let him go, even if the world itself demanded it. He was going to stay by this persons side for the rest of his life, even if he had to fight a billion armies to do so. But first he would have to find Atsumu's twin brother, because even if Sakusa didn't want to admit it now, he had made a promise. He wouldn't break a promise made to the person he loved. Not for as long as he lived.
