"What are you doing here?" I got to the point straight up.

"Nice to see you too Jo-" he started before I cut him off.

"No answer my question" I demanded.

"Why do you care so much? What does it matter to you" he spit suddenly in a rude tone way opposite from earlier scrunching his eyebrows hovering over me.

And let me tell you, I looked like an ant compared to his giant self.

"Well I don't want you to be around me, nevertheless while your getting paid, feels like pity or something, I don't think you know how it feels for someone to be paid to be around you" I said in his exact tone, he stood quiet so I took the opportunity to continue "Did you even know he was my dad?"

"We both know how thats not the problem here! You act like I came here taking the money to piss you off on purpose" I looked everywhere else but him waiting for him to answer my question before I spoke to him again. He noticed and sighed before continuing "No, No clue at all! How was I supposed to know? I never even got a chance to ask or even meet who I was getting paid to act like a fake date too because someone was off in Florida, if I would've known it was you, I would've backed out"

Ouch.

"Can you just go?" I said walking away but of course fighting with Luke, he always needs to get the last words.

"Come back, look I'll make you a deal" he said out of the blue much calmer earning my attention "I'll tell you the real reason and if you still think I shouldn't take the money, I'll leave right now not taking it" I turned around and nodded waiting for him to continue "My dad works for your father and my dad needs the job, but the only way he could keep it is if I agreed to this and my dad really needs his job so I thought 'hey why not be helpful for once and agree' but then your dad offered money then my dad immediately agreed without me getting a say in it"

When he said those words, I knew I couldn't just tell him to leave. "Just stay then, take the money if you need it that bad" We stayed silent for a while not knowing what to say till I started speaking again "Or I can still get you the money or say you did the job, you don't have to waste your time here with me"

He connected our hands making my insides go all over the place before dragging me out "Well look at you helping me get the easy way out, but nah I've got nothing better to do" I stayed quiet as I walked slowly next to him. "So what do people usually do at, um, events like this?"

"I like to think they dress fancy, drink fake champagne while judging everyone else, you know the usual!" He looked at me like I was mental "nah I'm joking! I don't like anything to do with business, I wouldn't even know" I shrugged.

We sat at a table facing each other with our hands still connected over the table, neither of us minded it anyways well he looked pretty consent.

"Then what are we doing here? Lets get out of here!" He suggested.

"My dad won't let me! Part of the reason he did this was for I could talk to some of his business partners and make myself look good so I could get some connections to work in some of the biggest brightest companies" I said in pure sarcasm.

He examined my face before starting with the questions "but you don't even like it?"

"Your right, I don't. But my dad is pressuring me basically. If it were up to me I'd ditch, however then he'd kick me out as soon as I'm 18 because I'm not following his expectations" I sighed. "that's what he did to my brother"

Luke looked mortified at mention of my brother but continued asking me stuff "What do you like?"

"Music!" I instantly answered and my eyes litterally popped at the question "my dad hates anything having to do with an art career and refuses to support me on it"
