Jisoo
"Hand over your head, kiddo." I commanded. I have been running for more than ten minutes already, chasing a delinquent pick pocketer, particularly a teenager. I received a not so very friendly snarl from him the moment I caught him.
Working as an inspector under Juvenile Crimes division is far far far away from my dream when I joined the police force. I graduated with indeed flying colors from the Korean National Police Academy at the age of 22 under Criminal Law. From a family of police. Misogynistic family may I add but not all at least. Maybe just my dad and my eldest brother.
My dad, Kim Nam Gil is a senior superintendent at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, known as a very notorious agent during his time of service in the field, while my eldest brother, Kim Soo Hyun is a senior inspector at Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency. My other brother Kim Bum, who's my number one supporter in the family, works for Interpol under Foreign Affairs Bureau.
Our mom, we lost her when I was three, and I have no recollection of her since she died when I was very young.
She was a military doctor.
I, as the youngest and technically the only female living member of the family, is also a police officer. A police inspector for years. But not on a division I wanted to work to.
Growing up with men especially working on the police environment, danger was like a normal food we eat, especially dad and my eldest brother handled heinous crimes, and Bum worked against international freaking mobs and syndicates.
So guess what, as I expected to be on the same line of work as them, I was thrown to Jeju Island by my own father using his damn fucking connections, and make things worst of all worst, I was assigned on the Juvenile Division, encountering kids on day to day basis, the most extreme cases I encountered were assaults from gang fights.
Hella boring, yes. And the reason why?
For my freaking safety.
For Goddamn sake, I am a police officer.
Like my dad and Soohyun, I dreamed working and to be part of the Major Crime Investigation Division, solving bizaare cases, chasing cold blooded criminals, solving puzzles and mystery crimes.
Yeah, it ended up as a dream. My own father will never make it happen.
I got another resistance from the kid I just captured when he tried to disarm me. How brazen. That cost him a kick on his balls. He crouched on the ground dramatically, as if I had assaulted him wherein in fact, I just protected myself from his attack.
How in the world 15 year old boys are this brave.
"I will make sure you will be sued from police brutality." He hissed on me as we wait for a police patrol to arrive.
"I will make sure next time I'll kick your balls, it will bruise until it turned purple, and you'll never ever get someone impregnated." I clapped back hastily.
He growled loudly and I laughed sarcastically, successfully pissing him off. Unfortunately, he is now on my powerful police bracelet, my handcuffs.
A police patrol finally arrived, and my policy buddy popped out from it, police officer Dong-Goo Ahn, my junior.
"Kim." He waved his hand over his head to greet me. "Ahn, over here."
I forcefully pushed the kid towards Dong Goo as he ushered him to the police patrol. The moment the three of us were inside, he cursed repeatedly, especially about my kicking.
