Snow dropped.
It's getting colder for the past week, a sign of change in season. And today was the first day the snow dropped.
Winter officially started.
It's been one season since Jisoo and I met. And it felt weird as if today will be new beginnings for us.
I woke up hearing her soft grunts probably feeling cold, and I spooned her closer to mine, covering both our bodies with the duvet. Placing my hand over her belly, I caressed it gently like I usually do, a habit I developed after learning that she was pregnant.
I don't know if it was my protective instinct over her now being shared with our baby.
She turned around, head buried against my chest, then I could feel her sniffing my shirt relentlessly. She demanded me to wear a shirt last night, saying she's gonna wear it the entire day while I am away. Despite her sensitive smell over a lot of things, my scent is something she enjoys the most.
"Aren't you late for your flight?" She mumbled in a very sleepy tone. It's still dawn and just like her, the sun is still half asleep.
"Not yet Jisoo. Sleep a little bit more." I replied, my fingers brushing her slightly tangled hair. She just hummed lowly. Her hands moved at my back as I tucked her under my chin.
Plenty moments like this make me wanted to push back my promotion in Seoul, stay here in Jeju and be with her here permanently. My mind was already set that after this mission, we will be in a long distance relationship, I working in Seoul, her working here in Jeju.
"It's too cold today." She whispered as she scooted much closer.
"It's snowing outside. The first drop of snow."
Her eyes fluttered instantly after hearing it.
"For real?" It only took a minute and she was on her feet dragging the duvet with her leaving me alone in bed, then she was leaning against the glass door of the balcony, watching the snow fell to the balcony floor like a happy kid. I came closer and shared the duvet with her, caging her body around my arms.
"I thought you'll hastily popped out of the balcony. You'll gonna catch a cold."
She giggled. "I am always excited to see the first day of snow. I always like to go out at times like this, but I think I can't do it this time, right?"
I nodded in response. "We'll do it tomorrow then."
Tilting her head to meet my stares, I pursed my lip on her forehead.
"The surveillance team is probably watching us right now." Her voice was like a semi - warning to my actions. "Aren't you afraid of us being seen this way?"
I pulled away a bit, only to give her a peck. Her eyes shut down instantly with the brief contact. I let my lip stayed on her for a while, molding it with mine, and released it with a tiny bite on her lower lip.
"Let them see a teaser. At least they won't be shocked anymore when we announced that we are getting married."
She laughed out loud with my remarks, then started to become silent again as her eyes returned to the falling snow.
"I don't want to go to Seoul today." I confessed. For some reasons, both my feet and my heart feels so heavy to leave both of them today. I don't want to give her a feeling that I don't trust her nor I don't believe on her skills or capacity to protect our unborn child, it was just a paranoia that I can't help but voice out.
