After they escaped their dying dimension and with no home to return to, the gods begun their journey through multiple dimensions and universes. In each dimension they brought forth peace and prosperity to the people, solving social and economic issues, ending wars, rebuilding civilizations and so on. In each dimension they visited they were worshipped immensely by the people.
Soliana, the god of the sun and light was beloved for her compassion.
Ignus, the god of flames and war was respected for her judgment.
Omoikane, the god of wisdom was greatly sought after for his vast knowledge.
Suijin, the god of water was known for his empathy.
However the God of darkness wasn't quite as popular as the others.
People were afraid of him, after all nobody likes the darkness right? He wasn't able to bring about bright and sunny days like Soliana, nor was he able to help others become more in touch with their emotions like Suijin. He was only able to predict tragedy and despair. In each dimension he was able to feel the aura of tragedy approaching a nation, but nobody wanted to hear this. They only wanted to know the good that would happen.
But even as nobody wanted to be around him, he always had his light by his side.
Many eons later after traveling from universe to universe, the gods came across a dimension that wasn't overflowing with life as were the past several they've seen. This dimension was completely barren of life, but instead of simply leaving it behind they came up with a better alternative. They all came to the decision to help this dimension to spring life from it, and after deliberation they finally picked the planet suitable for the job. The planet Earth.
Soliana made the sun and stretched the light of it and the stars to be able to provide warmth to the planet.
Omoikane provided nature to the planet and placed a "how" behind every "why".
Suijin provided water for the planet to drink from, and gave the water different tides for each side of the planet and Ignus provided smoldering lava that when mixed with water condensed into hard surfaces and formed mountains and hills from them.
And finally, the god of darkness gave his own personal touch to the planet. He provided the moon and created the cycle of night and day so that the life that may spring from the planet would know when it was time to work and when it was time to rest.
Everything was going perfectly according to plan. The planet was in fertile condition to spring forth life and the gods waited anxiously with each passing day, observing the planet closely for any signs of life.
However over the days, the god of darkness began to act strange. He was more closed off than usual and rarely talked as much as he used to. He looked as if he was within a constant internal war with himself. The other gods were concerned and would ask him constantly what was wrong, but he would assure them that all was well.
But then one day, tragedy struck. The god of darkness, for reasons still unknown, was suddenly filled with the desire to destroy the earth, the very planet that he and his fellow gods had worked so hard on. And so he created a large and powerful meteor and struck the earth with it, shaking the whole universe from the force. Awakened by this sudden disturbance, the rest of the gods quickly rushed to the scene only to find the planet split into two perfect halves and a dark, large meteor stuck in the middle due to the planet's gravity, a dark aura emitting from the meteor.
The gods were heartbroken at the sight. They had worked so hard endlessly day in and day out to make sure the planet was fit for life, only for their efforts to be destroyed in one fell swoop by the god of darkness. The gods wanted answers, they wanted to know why their friend who helped in the construction of this planet would turn on them, but they soon found out something was wrong. Very wrong.
With no other choice for them to take, the other four gods put their powers together and made a pocket dimension and was forced to seal the god of darkness away inside it, chaining him down to the dark and empty void so that he can cause no further harm to them, or himself.
The remaining gods tried to see if the planet was still salvageable, but things were looking grim. However in a sudden twist of fate and against all odds, life was born from the broken planet and the first human being walked the earth. The gods were overjoyed by this sudden change in fate, but this human wasn't any ordinary being.
From the meteor a dark purple ooze seeped inside the planet's core and formed a misty purple ring around the broken halves of the planet. From this ooze, the first human was born with something incredible.
They were born with magic.
