Many eons ago when the gods were still traveling across many dimensions, there was one in particular that was far from anything they'd seen before.

All the universes they'd seen so far were all at least inhabited, worst case scenario being that the universe was damaged and in need of repair, but they always fixed all the problems before leaving and moving on to the next.

However, this universe was absolutely devastating. The world itself was a dull gray with large dried up cracks filling the land. There were no buildings and no sign of habitation.

There was no sun and no moon nor were their any stars to so much as give light to the place, just pure emptiness. A plain, white void filled the sky with dreary lifelessness.

This place was completely desolate, the only thing inhabiting the land was the dried up, husky and pitch black statues of what looked to be people. All their faces were frozen in inextinguishable horror.

The one responsible for all this destruction was a dark figure, almost akin to fog but also liquid at the same time. It was a ghastly figure that lacked a face nor any distinguishable body parts. Only a slimy, goopy mouth that was stretched into a perpetual disfigured smile of a complete psychopath.

Upon seeing this figure and the chaos that it spread across this land, the gods attempted to catch this figure and destroy it for it's transgressions, but it was too quick and fled the scene before they had a chance to catch it.

From then on across the multiverse the gods hunted down it's traces and followed it in every universe it entered. Not much was known of this creature, not even Omoikane and all his wisdom was able to discern just what this creature was. All they knew about it was the unmistakable stench of death that followed its every footstep and it's crazed desire to destroy every universe it lays eyes on.

Not until many years later were they finally able to catch the figure in the most recent universe they found it in, but only this time did the figure finally decide to fight back against them instead of fleeing. And so the war began.

The fight seemed almost unending. Days went by as they remained pinned in a heated war. The situation grew more and more dire with each passing day. Despite all of them combined, in their youth and inexperience with their powers, the figure began to gain the upper hand over them. The situation was looking grim, but just when all their energy was almost spent, yami exerted all the strength he possessed and with the sheer presence and strength of his overwhelming darkness, they were finally able to defeat this figure as it was completely consumed in his darkness.

Finally the war was over and the gods had come out victorious, but because of the amount of force that was exerted during the long battle the gods were exhausted and needed time to rebuild their strength.

Once at their strongest again, they continued on throughout the multiverse helping as many worlds as possible until they finally came across the earth.

Over the time it took to cultivate the earth however, something strange began to arise within Yami. He began to feel something bubbling deep within him, almost as if it was trying to consume him whole.

This worried the other gods, especially soliana but he always told them that he was fine.

Slowly, but surely, with each passing day it felt like his very mind was slipping and that something was trying to take control of him. Until one day in a dream he was presented face to face with the same figure they had destroyed all those years ago.

Yami had thought that this figure had been completely consumed and destroyed by his darkness, but in truth he was only broken and living within his body until now that it has finally regrouped itself.

Almost daily the fight for his own sanity continued on and on. This thing was even fiercer than before, and now it was seeking revenge. He had managed to hold him down for so long, but one day his grasp finally slipped.

That was the day it happened. This thing was now in control and as such, his plan of revenge was finally about to come to fruition.

Once again just like that day from so many eons ago, a fight broke out between the gods. In the midst of battle the figure revealed himself to the other gods. They were shocked beyond belief. The same figure who they thought they'd destroyed all that time ago was still alive and possessing the body of one of their fellow gods.

They'd tried to destroy him once more, but after all this time, the figure and yami's core had become so intertwined that there was no way to destroy him without destroying Yami in the process. In their desperation, the gods put their powers together and sealed Yami away in a pocket dimension where he would be unable to hurt them, the universe, or himself. However, right before it was fully sealed, with the last of it's power it created a meteor and launched it towards the earth and split it in two before the other gods could stop it. With that, it was finally sealed.

Yami had been sealed away, and in the process the culmination of the gods' hard work had been destroyed, but overtime, life was still able to form, and the world flourished, but a more persistent problem still existed.

Ever since then, Omoikane has been excavating the vast expanses of knowledge around the universe in hopes of finding a way to separate the figure from Yami's body.

In the meantime however, in the millions of years that have passed by since the figure was chained down in it's own personal prison, it was simply using this time to make himself stronger. Strong enough until the day he finally broke out.
