Black Matter

Millions of years ago when the meteor that broke the earth in two got lodged between the hemispheres because of the gravitational pull, it's essence leaked into the core of the earth and gave human beings magic. However with it's essence the earth was given another gift. That gift was black matter.

Black matter came from the dark essence of the meteor and when it seeped into the earth core it created a liquid crust under the mantle of the earth. Occasionally these crystals would break through the surface of the earth and create large chunks of black matter. These chunks give off a dark aura and once exposed to the surface for too long they begin to shatter and turn to liquid before vaporizing.

These crystals have been studied thoroughly throughout history and have been found to possess immense magical properties that can even increase the magical capabilities of human beings. Over time however many people have begun hunting for black matter crystals and sell the chunks.

Although black matter has amazing magic properties that can benefit humans, the dark energy of it is also immense and too much of it can lead to very negative side effects to the human body that deteriorate the immune system and lead to deadly illnesses and death.

Because of these effects black matter has been labeled as a deadly drug and is illegal for any form usage however they are still sold in crime syndicates and on the black market illegally.

Black matter is also very addictive because of the rush of magic it provides to the human body that has been described as immensely pleasurable to most.

Almost 100 years ago the government formed a specialized organization of military and police who specialize in hunting down any trace of black matter being sold in the public and in the underground world. They also search for and destroy any black matter crystals found in the wild to prevent them from being sold.
