Crackling of a fire caused me to stir. My eyes slowly opened as I took in the dimly lit room.

"Where am I?" I groggily spoke as I sat up on the futon. The sheet slid down my bare body which made me gasp as my eyes wandered the cabin.

"Ya a'right?" Daryl's voice startled me. I turned to Daryl who sat next to me on the mattress. His bare chest visible as he too was naked and under the thin sheet.

Tears rimmed my eyes as my hand caressed his face. "It's you."

Daryl nodded as his ocean blue eyes bored into mine. His hand reached up to my face, his thumb lightly stroking my cheek, "My gem."

"I thought I'd never see you again." A couple tears dropped down my face as my lips quivered. Daryl used his thumb to wipe away the tears. The warmth of his hand sent shivers down my spine as I leaned into his touch. My heart swarmed with emotions.

"Come here." Daryl laid back. I joined him and placed my head on his chest as my hand rested on his torso.

"Am I dreaming?" I whispered, not daring to close my eyes in fear that this moment would end.

"Ya.." Daryl mumbled as he kissed the top of my head.

"I knew it was too good to be true." I sniffled as another tear escaped my eye. "I miss you, Daryl."

"Rest now, Ruby." Daryl soothed me as his hand gently rubbed my back. My eyes slowly shut as I was greeted by a peaceful darkness. The loneliness I had felt slowly dissipated as warmth surrounded me.

I adjusted my sleepy self against the source of the warmth. As I grew more conscious a hand drew small circles on my back.

I moaned in pleasure as the feeling sent sparks down my spine. I groggily whispered, "Am I still dreaming?"

"If you're dreaming about me that would explain the drool." Negan's deep voice spoke. As if someone had shot a gun next to my head I sprung out of bed and stared at Negan with wide eyes. Thankfully I was fully clothed.

"What the fuck?" I snapped, panting as I leaned against the wall.

Negan chuckled, "Good morning to you too sunshine!"

"What are you doing in here?" I asked after calming myself down.

"Came to talk with you before heading out. As I tried waking you, you rolled over and cuddled up to me. Can't say I didn't enjoy it." Negan smirked.

I rolled my eyes, "A knock would've sufficed!"

"You know you enjoyed it." Negan winked as he stood. "No farewell hug?"

I narrowed my eyes, "Who will you be torturing today?"

"For your sake, hopefully no one." Negan walked around the bed and stood in front of me. His hand caressed my face as he repeated, "So, no farewell hug?"

I released a deep breath as I wrapped my arms around him. Negan held me tightly against him as he hugged me back. With each second that passed I felt more disgusted with myself for touching him. What made it worse was that a part of me enjoyed it.

"Aww, thank you darling. I needed that!" Negan released me and patted my shoulder. "I'll see you later, okay?"

"Okay." I whispered as Negan left the room. Once he was gone I released a shaky breath. Strange feelings crept over me as I kept thinking of being held in Negan's arms. My teeth ground together as I jumped onto the bed and screamed into a pillow. I wasn't sure how long I allowed myself to air out my frustrations but by the time I was done my throat hurt.
