33. Into Oblivion

Tied Together With a smile// Aegon Targaryen out now!

Taelon brought them to Thorin's new chambers. Thorin ooh'd and ahh'd, Rhae was awestruck. Murals painted on the walls, dragon's and horses, flames and both the targaryen and Royce sigils on the wall.

"Mine?" Thorin asked.

"All yours bud." Taelon agreed then he looked to the fire. "It's tradition." Taelon remarked taking the egg from the flames. He held it out to Rhae. "Targaryen's are gifted eggs for their cribs. Thorin's egg-"

"I get a drago!" Thorin exclaimed clapping his hands. "Is it going to hatch and be big like Rok?" Thorin asked bringing the egg to his ear.

"That's the goal." Taelon agreed. Rhae truly felt Targaryen now. She had been married, had been Rhae Targaryen but she never felt it. She brought Taelon's child into the world and felt a fraction of the dragon energy. She married him, he asked her to move to the capital and now her son would have a dragon.

"Daddy do I crack it?" Thorin asked giving the egg a shake.

"No, you put it on the fire." Taelon corrected moving away from Rhae. "Right here, be careful, hot." Taelon remarked. Thorin plopped the egg down on the embers.

"It open soon?" Thorin asked.

"I hope so." Taelon agreed. "But it will open in its own time. Dont try to crack it."

"Okay daddy." Thorin agreed staring at the egg in the fire.

"We can go on a dragon egg hunt for fun though." Taelon assured her. "Its a labyrinth of treasures in the pits." Rhae nodded smiling as she leaned into him.

"My prince." Tommen said with a salute.

"I got a surprise for you too." Taelon remarked grabbing Rhae's hand.

"My... is she a princess now? I always forget these rules." Tommen remarked.

"Watch Thorin please." Taelon requested pulling Rhae along.

"Tommen, professional baby sitter." Tommen declared with a salute. "Hey squirt, you got bigger... your daddy is about to fuck your mama into oblivion if she likes her room." TOmmen remarked. Thorin stared back at him a moment before looking at his dragon egg. "Yeah, dragons are more exciting than I." Tommen agreed.

"Now you can tell me if you don't like it, do be honest." Taelon begged. "But... well... I mean..." Taelon hesitated. "So Thorins chambers." Taelon pointed at the room right next door. Rhae nodded confused. "Ours." He pushed open the door.

Viserys had said that he could move chambers, do as he pleased, Rhae could have her own or share, it didnt matter because he knew Taelon was going to do what Taelon wanted. After his talk with Alicent he hoped she was right, if not his old chambers were not far.

Rhae looked around the room, elegant, beautiful. She looked back at Taelon as he waited for approval or a look of hatred.

"Ours?" She repeated fondly.

"If you don't want to share chambers-" Taelon began as she moved back to him. "-I understand, you may keep this room if you like it and my-" But she kissed him silencing him.

"How did I go this long without knowing you." Rhae whispered pushing the door closed as she pulled him to her. "Best test out the bed before supper." Rhae remarked pulling at his shirt.

Supper was awkward. Taelon glanced around the table as he shifted Thorin in his arms.

"Do sit." Viserys requested when Taelon hesitated seeing Nyras vicious glare. Taelon pulled out a chair for Rhae before bouncing Thorin in his lap.

"I was hoping Aegon would be here." Taelon remarked.

"Aegon is down for a nap." Alicent remarked.

"How old is prince Aegon?" Rhae asked glancing around the table. She had never felt so out of place and yet so content as Taelon wrapped a hand around the back of chair fingers draped around her shoulders.

"A little over one." Viserys informed them. "Taelon was off for most of that."

"Thorin will be three in a few moons." Taelon remarked. "5, moons..." he offered. "I suppose thats not a few but hes big and strong and talkative." Taelon rambled.

"How many moons did you spend in runestone before deciding this?" Viserys questioned.

"Well you see I was on tour, as you requested." Taelon reminded him as he brought his drink to his lips.

"Then Taelon went to runestone met little Thorin and said fuck it all!" Tommen declared taking a seat. "Why didnt you tell me it was family supper? I love family supper!" Tommen reminded him "oh Rhae so lovely to see you again. I heard you two a lot earlier when I was designated baby sitter and I have to admit maybe having his room next to your chambers is a bad idea." Tommen rambled.

"You remember Tommen, right Rhae?" And just like that Taelon wasnt worried anymore. Tommen had a chaotic energy that calmed him. They had been brothers for years in every way but blood.

"Yes. Tommen is hard to forget." Rhae agreed.

Rhae was trying to be the perfect daughter in law. She did her hair and wore a dress and didnt feel like herself but as soon as Taelon loosened up had a few drinks and started talking with Tommen instead of his father Rhae felt herself relax too.

Thorin chattered and a babbled about his future dragon. Alicent tried to be happy for Taelon and Rhae. Happy that they got to choose and chose love.

Nyra did not try to hide her distaste for a moment though. But as the night dragged on Viserys started to see that Taelon liked Rhae and loved Thorin.

Viserys wanted to be angry but the more he saw how Thorin smiled up at Taelon the more Viserys felt proud that Taelon was doing the right thing wanting to raise his boy and he a good man.
