"It suits you." Alicent remarked. Taelon glanced up from his blank sketchbook. "I'm really sorry Taelon." He threw his book aside as Thorin ran in.
"Hey bud."
"Can I get you anything?" Alicent questioned. Taelon shook his head as he put his crown on Thorin's head.
"Looks good on you." Taelon remarked. Thorin smiled back at Alicent.
"A king in the making." ALicent agreed.
"Aunt Moody look! I'm a king!" Thorin declared as Nyra came in.
"Will that name never cease?" Nyra teased. Taelon watched as they held hands.
"When did you two kiss and make up?" Taelon questioned.
"You are more important then our petty fights." Nyra remarked. "You need us, the boys do. You are not alone, Taelon."
"We are sorry Taelon." ALicent added. "I know no one can say it enough to matter but we liked Rhae... anything we can do for you and the boys we will."
"I want to go to Runestone." Taelon admitted. "But I'm the king now and I can't just leave..." Taelon whimpered. "I would trade my life for hers because what use am I? No one believed in me." Nyra watched a tear fall down his face. "No one thought I would be a good heir, then I proved them right and I fucked up. But Rhae was perfect and wonderful and..." He sucked in a shaky breath as he gnawed at his lip. "She believed in me... I loved her and I failed her... I couldnt protect her..."
"It's not your fault." Alicent declared.
"It's Daemons." Nyra agreed.
"It feels like my fault. I should have been there, I should have stopped him. I should have known she was in trouble... I should have killed Daemon when I had the chance." Taelon seethed. "She wanted the boys to have room to roam and run and be free... smell the fresh air... I can't even give her, her last wish."
"What if you could?"
