Rhae decided the best thing in the world was waking up beside Taelon in bed his body molding to hers encompassing her in his warmth. She practically purred as she trapped his arm under her own fingers interlaced at her chest. He kissed right behind her ear.
"Morning." Taelon rasped holding onto her tighter.
"Morning." She echoed leaning into him. "What do you think of our first night at Runestone?" Rhae questioned.
"We had first nights at Runestone." Taelon corrected and his voice vibrated against her.
"As married." Rhae clarified.
"Oh yes... I thought something was different. Less scandalous." Taelon agreed kissing her shoulder. "I'm excited for this chapter of our lives."
"Me too." Rhae agreed.
"MAMA! DADDY!" Thorin declared running into their room, he held up to his egg.
"A happy day indeed." Taelon agreed getting out of bed and pulling on some pants as he moved to THorin.
"I definitely helped it when I dropped it before we left." THorin remarked as Taelon pulled him up into bed. Rhae sat up tucking the covers under her armpits as she watched the egg breaking slowly. She had never seen a dragon born before, it was already so magical. Thorin screeched with delight as his dragon broke free.
"Wow... thats a baby dragon." Rhae remarked, amazed. The little dragon squinted up at them as he tried to extend his wings testing them out.
"Handsome little lad." Taelon remarked reaching out to the dragon.
"He's green." Thorin remarked.
"Are many dragons such a vibrant color when born?" Rhae questioned.
"Not like this." Taelon remarked. He stretched out his wings. "Very hightower." Taelon mused.
"Alicent is so sweet," Rhae remarked. "I dont understand why they can't get along. They were so close, the both of them..." Rhae offered gently.
"I dont think I would like if Tommen married my mum." Taelon offered. Rhae nodded in agreement.
"But its not Alicent's fault she was chosen to be queen." Rhae added.
"I know... Nyra doesnt care. Some things are too far gone. I'm glad they have you though. I know how much they love you too." Taelon added.
"I never had any siblings, it is nice to have family." Rhae agreed as she reached out grabbing Taelons hand.
"What do you want to call him?" Taelon asked Thorin.
"I can pick any name?" Thorin asked as the dragon shook off the shell and moved towards them.
"Anything your heart desires." Taelon confirmed.
"How did you pick Rok?" Thorin asked
"Well there is the legend of Ragnarok." Taelon exclaimed happily.
"Oh yes tell our child about the wars that were prophesied." Rhae mused. Taelon ignored her sarcasm.
"Ragnarök, also known as the Twilight of the Gods, it was first prophesied by the Jötunn Gróa that foresees the ultimate battle of the Gods gods," taelon declared "as well as the rebirth of the world through submersion into water." Taelon chuckled "because my Rok breaths fire I found that quite humorous." Taelon explained. "Anyways... in the prophecy, Ragnarok is seen as being the center of everything!"
"Wow!" Thorin declared.
Ragnarök was first prophesized by the Jötunn Seeress Gróa, who unintentionally saw a vision of the actual events while searching in her library for ancient tomes for knowledge that would help her find her lost husband Aurvandil. In her vision she saw the beginning of Fimbulwinter, Skol and Hati devouring the Sun and Moon, Sutr emerging from Muspelheim, Fenrir breaking free from his chain and the Gods once again at each other's throats. She also saw a white ghost from another land and his young son, Kratos and Atreus, who are at the center of everything. However, her vision was so powerful that it was felt by Odin himself.
Rhae hadnt heard the story in years but now hearing him explain it to Thorin acting it out as he did so made her so happy. She couldnt put to words the feeling. That overwhelming love that flowed around them. She knew coming to Runestone was a good idea, a fresh start, some space from the capital to breathe.
"Erebor." Thorin declared.
"Erebor?" Thorin asked unable to place the name.
"Mama told me the story of the lonely mountain. Erebor." Thorin told him.
There was the city of Dale. Its markets known far and wide. Full of the bounties of vine and vale. Peaceful and prosperous. For this city lay before the doors of the greatest kingdom in Middle-earth: Erebor. Stronghold of Thror, King Under the Mountain. Mightiest of the Dwarf Lords.
"Thror." Taelon remarked. "Thoros."
"We both take names from history, we really are a perfect match." Rhae declared.
"We are." Taelon agreed.
"Thror for the next son." Rhae offered.
"I want a little girl!" Taelon exclaimed.
"I know you do, we will get working on that soon." Rhae agreed as he leaned back in bed kissing her.
"Erebor Targaryen!" Thorin declared as the little green dragon crawled up onto his shoulder. Thorin squealed with excitement.
"A fine name." Taelon agreed.
"Do you see? Do you see him?" Thorin questioned trying to move.
"I think he likes you." Rhae agreed.
"When can Erebor fly?" Thorin questioned. "When can I fly him!"
"Look at the size of him honey." Rhae countered. "Not for a while."
"Like... next moon?" Thorin countered.
"This isnt a negotiation."
