You are a Mothra. Shuri is the only one who knows. But what she doesn't know is that you like her but with time running out thanks to Thanos, it's now or never to tell her
A/N - NO WAKANDA FOREVER SPOILERS
Requested by girldanger15 (hope you like it; it was hard to write about a creature I don't know much about, but I gave it my best shot)
There's one thing Wakandan's don't know about me. I may look like I'm human but really, I am a moth Kaiju. My non-human form name is Mothra, but my human name is y/n. I am already different to them, but they don't seem to mind since I've lived among them for quite some time. I am different in terms of how I look. My human form has pale skin unlike the Wakandan's and my hair is brown but some mistake it as black and lastly, my eyes are blue instead of brown. Oddly enough though, they're not bothered by me. Especially one Wakandan in particular.
"Y/n, have you finished recording the data yet?" "Yeah, Shuri I have." I say to her handing her my notes. "Thank you. I'll start analysing this right away." I help her out in her lab when I can. The thing about Shuri is, she is the only one to know that I hatched from an egg and started off as larva but what she doesn't know is my real age. You see, I age like normal humans or rather, slower than normal humans. This is to fit in so that humans don't learn of my real age. What is my real age you ask? I am 100,000 years old. Yet, I look about the same age as the princess of Wakanda.
Shuri and I became best friends ever since she found me that day, I had gotten myself into an accident and she healed me no problem. Then, she showed me the ropes of her lab and I guess I stuck around ever since then. The other thing she doesn't know is that over the last few years, I've developed a crush on her which turned out to be more than a crush. Trouble is, I don't know how to tell her but not just that, she's royalty so it'll most likely be considered inappropriate too.
Our project is interrupted when T'challa walks into the lab with some outsiders also known as the Avengers. The most obvious ones being Captain America and Black Widow and the one with the red wispy powers... err Wanda, was it? They've asked me and Shuri to extract the mind stone from Vision. It's going to be difficult but with time we should be able to do the task. Though things got complicated when Thanos' minions decided to attack Wakanda. That lead to everyone except Wanda leaving the lab.
As we worked, me and Shuri exchange a few looks. "So, are you two a thing?" Wanda asks. Me and Shuri don't really know how to answer that. Which is surprising, for Shuri at least. Normally, she doesn't let things shock her like that. I let out a nervous laugh and so does she right after. "Why, what would make you think that?" I question the witch. "Well, the looks you two give each other and not only that, but I can also read minds." Me and Shuri gave each other a side glance. Clearly neither of us was expecting a mind reader to be present. To be honest, I didn't even realise mind reading was possible though at this point.
Hmm, if she's a mind reader, I wonder if she can read what I'm thinking now. 'Shuri is royalty so it wouldn't be appropriate and who's to say she feels the same way.' But then I heard her thoughts in my head. 'You never know unless try. The worst thing you can do is leave yourself to constantly wonder what could have happened.' Wanda has a point. Maybe I should at least tell Shuri. And if this invasion from Thanos' minions is to be the end of Wakanda, then now is a good time to tell her for sure. But my thoughts are quickly interrupted when Wanda uses her powers to fly over to the battlefield and destroyed one of the leaders.
Now I am back to helping Shuri extract the stone from Vision. "Why would she ask that?" Shuri questioned still focusing on her work. Well, it's now or never I suppose. "Err... err." Great I'm at a loss for words. Fantastic timing. "Well, you should know, the feeling is mutual y/n." She says finally looking up at me with a smile. "In that case, maybe after this whole war is over, we can go out on a real date, away from the lab?" I asked hopefully. But little did I know, Shuri and T'challa and basically 50% of the planet were about to be wiped out of existence because of Thanos.
