**************

I wake up to sun shining on my face the next morning. I open my eyes and almost get blinded by

suns shining rays so I close them again and pull my blanket up over my head. I reach out blindly

looking for my phone so I can check the time but then realize I'm in the family room and my

phone is downstairs on my bedside table. I groan realizing that my only two options are either

removing the blanket from my eyes and getting blinded or getting up all the way to look at the

clock which would mean getting up from my VERY comfy position on the couch. Man I'm lazy, I

think to myself. I untangle myself from the blankets and stand up stretching my arms over my

head. I yelp as my back cracks in protest and I quickly pull my arms back down to my sides.

Sleeping on a couch is definitely not an ideal sleeping arrangement. I wander into the kitchen to

check the time. The clock again reads nine thirty. Where is everyone? After all its Saturday and

neither my aunt or uncle usually work on Saturdays. I listen carefully but there isn't any noise

coming from the house. Hmmm. All of a sudden I hear a splash and then some laughter. I walk

over to the big windows overlooking the backyard and pool.

All three of them are in the pool. Jake is standing on the diving board and my aunt is floating in

the deep end on a tube, grinning at my uncle while he tries to do a hand stand. She laughs at him

as he once again topples over before even getting his legs halfway out of the water. As he comes

back up shaking the water from his dark hair and sees her laughing he swims toward her. He

grabs her tube and flips it over sending her into the water. She comes up blubbering and tries to

push my uncle under. Then Jake joins in splashing whoever he can hit. My aunt gets away and

swims toward the shallows beckoning for me to come out when she sees me standing in the

window. I stand there uncertain if I should go outside or not. Come on you big baby, I think, it's

just outside, even if you burn and turn into a tomato it'll still be fun. I flash my aunt a thumbs up

and head downstairs to get my swimsuit.

I head into my room and then realize that I have absolutely NO CLUE where my swimsuit is. Do I

even own a swimsuit? Ummm... I rack my brain trying to remember where one might be. Aha! I

suddenly remember that the first day I moved in my aunt had bought me a swimsuit. I had never

even bothered to look at it because I had honestly thought I would never leave the house again. I

had thrown it into my closet without a glance. I cross the room and whip open my closet. My eyes

search for the plastic bag in the dump I call a closet. I really need to do some spring cleaning. To

bad it's not spring... oh well. I see the bag, grab it, and head to the bathroom. I open it up and

grab out the swimsuit. It's a dark purple bikini with a neon pink heart on one side of the butt. I

pull it on and throw my hair into a sloppy bun on top if my head. Screw what other people think.

That's there own problem. I grab a towel and head out back.

As soon as I open the doors and step out it feels like I've been thrown into the Sahara desert. I've

been outside for literally two seconds and I already want to dive into an ice bucket. I step onto the

concrete that surrounds the pool then jump back, yelping.

"Oh, by the way the concretes hot." My uncle yells out to me laughing and looking slightly

sheepish. I just shoot him a dirty look and then run to the pool edge and step onto the outer

plastic part. I chuck my towel to the side and step down onto the first pool step, sighing in

appreciation as the cool pool water covers my burned feet. I slowly ease into the water taking my

own sweet time. I grab my aunts tube and get on it closing my eyes enjoying the sun. After a few

minutes Jakes constant splashing suddenly ceases and all of a sudden I feel a shove and I fall face

first into the water. I quickly come up blubbering and gasping for air. I rub my eyes free of

chlorine and open them to find the face of my aunt grinning wickedly with my uncle and Jake

standing behind her with squirt guns aimed at me and equally evil faces.

"It is SO on." I say as we start the biggest water war known to mankind.
