Even as Dylan continued stomping toward me my gales of laughter are the only thing that are keeping me from running away screaming. His hair is dripping onto his face and his clothes are soaked through and through but his eyes are murderous looking. I am so dead. He's gonna kill me. But to my surprise, once he makes it over to where I am he just collapses next to me and bursts out laughing just as hard as me. We laugh for so long that I can feel myself starting to get abs from laughing. Eventually though we cool down and Aunt Beth calls Jake inside. She grins when she sees a sopping wet Dylan and then gives me a thumbs up. I grin and glance over at Dylan who's still dripping and has a slight smile on his face.
"I bet you can borrow some of my uncles clothes." I tell him chuckling. His shirt is sticking to him and you can clearly see his abs through it. He clears his throat forcing me to move my eyes back up to his face. Crap. I blush and avert my eyes. Good grief Rose could you be more obvious?! I think to myself blushing crazily. I clear my throat and avoid eye contact as I stand up. He smirks knowingly at me.
"You know pictures last longer." He says as I turn an even brighter color of red. One part of my brain is thinking, cocky jerk, but the other part is thinking, don't tempt me. I decide to go with the cocky jerk and then kick him in the shin saying, "Don't flatter yourself."
He yelps and then rubs his leg giving me a dirty look but I just smirk at him and walk over to my towel to pick it up off the ground.
"You had it coming." I reply, trying to frown convincingly but I epically fail and end up grinning at him like a moron. He smiles back and then he gets up and we walk to the house. Well... I walk he limps. I must have kicked him harder than I thought. Whoops. Oh well.
We enter the kitchen through the doors leading from the porch to the outside. My uncles sitting at the bar. When he sees Dylan though he sets down the pop he's drinking and chuckles loudly.
"Was there a rain shower I didn't know about?" My uncle teases him.
"Not one that I'm aware of." Dylan replies grinning. "I just decided to take a swim with my clothes on. It wasn't exactly planned."
He gives me a sideways glance and a smile makes its way onto my lips. Uncle Sam laughs and says he'll go get Dylan some extra clothes. He returns a minute later with some of his own clothes and Dylan heads into the bathroom to change.
"So how did you get him into the pool?" My uncle asks curiously. I giggle and tell him how I pretended I couldn't get out of the pool. He chuckles and gives me a one armed hug.
"Me and your aunt are going out tonight and we were wondering if you could watch Jake."
"Of course." I agree. I love Jake to death.
"Dylan can stay with you if he wants to." We both turn to Dylan who just walked in.
"Sure, why not? More of a chance to get back at Rose." He grins at me wickedly and I gulp. Yikes!
"On second thought maybe he should just go home. After all who'd want to hang out with me and a seven year old?"
"Uh-uh, there's no chance your getting rid of me now." His evil grin just gets bigger. I am so doomed. I groan and collapse on the couch in defeat.
"We can have a movie marathon. You and Jake can pick out the movies." I get back up again. "Leave the snacks to me."
Twenty minutes later Jake, Dylan, and I are seated on the couches as we start our first movie, Tangled, one of my all time favorites. We had been deciding between Cars and Tangled but when Dylan said he'd never seen Tangled my eyes had pretty much fallen out of my head. So I dragged him to the couch and told him to stay as Jake got the movie ready and I gathered some snacks. Actually I pretty much gathered the entire contents of the refrigerator but whatever. What can I say, I love food. So now we were all seated, eating our own little containers of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I had also grabbed Twizzlers, M&Ms, fruit snacks, and chex mix. I had been grabbing more but Dylan had insisted we had enough. I thought he was crazy but I went with it.
So now I was sitting next to Dylan on one couch while Jake hogged the other. Really I had pretty much every word of Tangled already memorized but I loved watching Dylan's face as he watched the movie. I suppose it probably looks like I'm creepin on him but his reactions are pretty funny. At one point he catches me watching him.
"What?"
"Oh nothing."
I shrug nonchalantly and turn to the tv. After we finish Tangled I stand up and stretch. Jakes asleep on the couch so Dylan gently picks him up and carries him up to his room. Then we tuck him in and I kiss his forehead.
"Night little man." Dylan says quietly. Then we both carefully walk back down the stairs.
"What now?" Dylan asks me. I try to think of something we could watch.
"Ever seen Pitch Perfect?" I grin as he shakes his head.
"What's that?" He asks curiously.
"Oh, you are going to find out."
