Beomgyu knew when Yeonjun would lean on him, literally, when he was stressed. Beomgyu had always ran his hands through Yeonjun's hair, and it usually helped calm him down. Beomgyu could actually feel Yeonjun relax on him. Beomgyu then got an idea, it always made Yeonjun feel like everything was alright again.
"Even though we're teenagers now, want to go sleep on the trampoline?" Beomgyu asked.
Flashback
It was just the 3 of them. Yeonjun, Beomgyu, and Arin. Yeonjun and Arin were always around a lot, since the three of them were best friends.
Yeonjun and Beomgyu were carrying blankets and pillows out to the trampoline, and Arin was carrying lights to put in the net. Yeonjun and Beomgyu were in charge of laying out the blankets and pillows. They made sure the entire trampoline was covered too, while Arin was busy putting the lights up.
When they all laid down, Arin immediately started pointing out different constellations. Yeonjun was laying in between Arin and Beomgyu.
Arin had always loved astrology, she's even trying to memorize their birth charts. Yeonjun, a virgo, Beomgyu, a pisces. She didn't know how they got along sometimes though. She was a scorpio. Arin was still talking about the stars long after Yeonjun and Beomgyu had fallen asleep, but she didn't notice it, until she looked over at them. She wasn't sure how they ended up either. Yeonjun was laying on Beomgyu, head on his chest and his leg pulled up by his stomach.
...
"Of course," Yeonjun said as he smiled and got off of Beomgyu.
Yeonjun went to grab the blankets from the hall closet and some pillows while Beomgyu got his fairy lights. When they both walked through the kitchen, Beomgyu's mom knew exactly what they were doing and she couldn't help but smile.
Yeonjun and Beomgyu went into the backyard and to the trampoline. Yeonjun threw the things in, then they both kicked off their shoes, and then he climbed in with Beomgyu following. Beomgyu handed Yeonjun a bunch of the fairy lights and started weaving them through the net on one side while Beomgyu did the other side. They met in the middle and that's when they both ran out of lights. Beomgyu laid one blanket down under where they were laying, so the black color of the trampoline wouldn't be all over them when they woke up. Beomgyu sat down and Yeonjun laid down with his head in Beomgyu's lap.
Beomgyu went back to running his hands through Yeonjun's hair as they both looked up at the star filled sky. It was mostly quiet except for the sound of bugs. It was a comfortable silence too.
Yeonjun wanted to say something about what happened at the party but he wasn't sure what he should say. Beomgyu seemed to know exactly what was bothering him.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Yes but no."
"Ah okay, I understand."
Yeonjun stayed quiet for a little while until he finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "How different would things be if Arin didn't..?"
Beomgyu was surprised by Yeonjun's question. "I can't even begin to imagine how different things would be if she was still here," Beomgyu said also barely above a whisper, and he looked down at Yeonjun.
Beomgyu seen the reflection of the stars in his eyes he could see his eyes even water up. Beomgyu really started to wonder how long Yeonjun has been hiding all this pain. He wants to let it all out but he keeps trying to hide it at the same time.
"It's alright Junnie, you can cry, you don't need bottle it up." Beomgyu said softly and Yeonjun sat up and turned around to hug him. Beomgyu wrapped his arms around Yeonjun tightly and even let Yeonjun climb up into his lap. It was both more comfortable for them this way.
