Flashback (only months before...)
It was just Yeonjun, Arin, and their mom. Their dad was at work and their mom decided to take them to the mall. They walked around for a while before Arin begged to go eat at the sushi place.
Yeonjun sat beside Arin and she kept taking Yeonjun's food after she finished hers.
"Arinnn that's minee," Yeonjun whined but not too loudly since they were in public.
"Your just eating sloww." Arin said as she covered her mouth and mocked Yeonjun.
Her eye smile was all Yeonjun seen. Yeonjun couldn't help but smile too. Their mom gave Arin some of her food, and smiled.
"Aren't you going to want that?" Arin asked their mom when she looked over at her. She just shook her head.
...
Beomgyu was now standing in front of Yeonjun, and he was calling his name while waving his hand in front of his face. "Junnie. Earth to Junnie."
"Oh- hm?" Yeonjun replied, confused.
"You just stopped walking and zoned out, are you okay?"
"... Yeah,"
"I know what you're thinking. I can read you like a book."
"..."
"I know you have a love-hate relationship with this place but, it's alright. This will be good for you." Beomgyu gave Yeonjun a smile and they continued walking until they got there and were seated.
Yeonjun ended up getting what Arin would always get, while Beomgyu got basically the same thing.
"She really did seem so happy."
"I know. That's also why I'm so cautious with you. I know you're depressed but you act like you're fine, and we now know that's how she was."
"You have no idea how bad I want to see her again. I would do anything even if it was just for a minute to see her again."
"You scare me sometimes. You just said that with absolutely no emotion."
"I have almost no emotions left."
"You're just saying that because we're in public."
"Yeah..."
"..."
"Just everything has been reminding me of her lately..."
"Maybe it's because here in a week it will be officially 3 years and 6 months without her..."
"Maybe..."
...
They got their food and they ate. Yeonjun really tried not to think of Arin anymore and tried to focus on eating. He ended up eating everything and so did Beomgyu. They made a silent agreement not to mention her again for the remainder of the day, unless Yeonjun wanted to talk about it.
They paid and left after grabbing their boards. They decided to go to the skate park after. They had to cross the Han River and Beomgyu knew how much Yeonjun hated that bridge. They had to because on the other side is where the fun one is. Beomgyu had Yeonjun walk across it and was going to try and get him across it as quickly as he could. Beomgyu held Yeonjun's hand and really dragged him across the sidewalk lining the bridge.
Yeonjun made the mistake of looking down at the river instead of his feet and he just stopped walking again.
The sirens...
The pain...
The shock...
It was all rushing back to him. It hit him in a wave. Beomgyu noticed how he stopped moving and was looking over the edge. Beomgyu stepped in front of him and gently grabbed his shoulders.
