After my talk with Glenn I went back to my cell with Carl, who's still pissed. "Glenn's gonna talk to your dad about getting us a bit more reasonability. More independence." I tell my friend, emptying my pockets.

"Really?" He asks sitting up from his bunk. "Yeah." I whisper, taking my hair out of my tight pony. "How'd you manage that?"

"Glenn listens when I talk." I tell him sitting down on my bed. "Doesn't treat me like a little kid who doesn't know what she's doing."

"I wish my mom would do that." Carl huffs, jumping down from the top bunk. "I swear all she hears when I speak is a whiny baby."

"She'll come around." I say and the boy nods. "Yeah, let's hope." He scoffs out.

Carl and his mom had a fight during the winter, a fight so bad that no one would tell me what happened between the two.

"Somebody help!" Beth shouts from Hershel's cell making me turn to Carl, wide eyed. "Somebody!" She yells again and the two of us are out the door, running to the cell.

We get there just as Lori places her ear on Hershel's chest. "What's happening?" I ask, coming into the cell and taking Beth's hand.

Lori starts doing CPR and I wrap my arm around Beth. Lori goes to give mouth to mouth but Hershel jumps up, grabbing her head.

"No." We all yell, running forward and pulling Lori back. Hershel gasps before laying back down and starting to snore.

The women all huddle together against the wall but Carl stays  just outside the cell, his gun raised on Hershel's sleeping body.

As we all calm down Maggie handcuffs her dad's wrist to the bedpost, just in case.

Rick, Daryl and T-Dog come back from dealing with the prisoners all three of them covered in blood.

No one mentions it though as Rick walks into Hershel's cell. The group stands around waiting for Hershel to wake up or turn.

Hershel eventually does wake up, his eyes fluttering open and taking in his surroundings.

"Daddy?" Maggie whispers, kneeling down next to her dad. Beth drops beside her sister, clutching onto her dad.

Rick uncuffs the older mans hand from the bedframe. Hershel raises his now free hand, grasping onto Rick's, bringing our leader to his knees beside him.

The Greene girls cling to each other as I rest my head on Carl's shoulder, smiling at the scene before us.

Lori walks out after giving my shoulder a squeeze. Rick watches her leave before handing the old mans hand to Beth, following after his wife.

A few days later the adults are all outside, clearing the courtyard of corpses. Carl and I stayed back, cleaning out the cell block of garbage and dust.

"I can't breathe in here anymore, let's take a break." I tell Carl, rubbing my hands against my pants. "You'd rather be smelling burning bodies?" Carl asks, stopping his sweeping. "As long as I can breathe yeah." I taunt, walking over to Hershel's cell.

"Woah." I mutter, starring at the man who's now standing thanks to crutches and Lori and Beth's help. "Carl and I can't breathe in there anymore, we're just gonna go outside." I tell Lori who nods.

"We'll join you." Hershel tells me, taking a hop towards me. "You sure?" I ask, holding my hands out incase the man tumbles.

"Fresh air will do us all good." He says, nodding to his caretakers who haven't left his side since he was bit.
