It's been five hours since Ryan left. Five.
Ryan hasn't come home yet, Adam is still doing his beach cleanup. I'm concerned about Ryan, he hasn't responded to any of my calls or texts, Adam said he hasn't found him yet...
Also, Ryan's been doing some strange things lately. He's been drinking lots of water, and I mean a lot. He asked for three glasses of water at breakfast.
Ryan's been talking about water a lot, too. Talking about the beach, the ocean, the waves... I know Ryan's weird, just not this weird. Something's just... off.
one hour later...
Ryan just texted me. After six hours.
"Hey, Jack! Sorry for the delay, heading home"
Huh. Odd how he would text me now, of all times, and not warn me about anything. Wouldn't he tell us about something going wrong?
Adam and I exchanged messages about how Ryan was acting a little strange.
"Ryan hasn't gotten back to me yet." Adam texted.
"Something's up with him..."
"Of course something's up, Jack! We figured that out hours ago."
"I just have a feeling... that he was at the beach." added Adam.
The beach? Who would go there in January, of all months?
"I saw someone who looked just like him... it was like he was there, but then disappeared. I saw something that looked like scales, then nothing."
I knew something was up with Ryan. But what? All that water talk has to mean something.
Right?
