Chapter Forty Seven

The lock screen incident was just the start of Taehyung's sweet miseries. Jungkook had him hooked by leaving sweet, romantic surprises and gestures for him as if he was leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. These said "breadcrumb" actions of the other gave him a dopamine rush more than any chocolate known to mankind. So much so, that Taehyung started looking forward to these treats.

These 'breadcrumbs' came his way in variety. Most of them stayed till they become a norm between the two. For instance, the way Jungkook wakes him up in the morning. Since the day they came from London, Jungkook sleeps only with Taehyung cuddled to his chest and wakes up the same way. He then proceeds to wake his lovely sleepyhead, who is usually found clinging to his torso. No, Jungkook absolutely refuses to start his morning without his adorable husband.

Taehyung being a deep sleeper works so well for Jungkook, because it gives him plenty of time to utilise all the sweet torture tools in his toolkit, which he curated specially for Taehyung. The torture progresses in severity depending on how long Taehyung takes to wake up. Starting from sweet names and nickname callings to soft neck, cheek and forehead kisses, Jungkook uses them all. And, on days when Taehyung's sleeps decided to be extra stubborn, tickling comes in handy too. But no matter what tools or combination of tools Jungkook uses, the outcome remains the same, that is Taehyung waking up as a beautiful, happy and giggly mess. A worthy reward for a worthy sweet torturer.

After the sweet mornings, Taehyung receives another breadcrumb. When Grandpa Jeon went to stay with Namjoon and Jin, Taehyung thought they would return to their previous meal arrangements, i.e of them eating their lunches at their workplace's cafeteria. But on the contrary, the first day they resumed their work, Jungkook volunteered to cook them breakfast along with packing them their lunches. He had observed that Taehyung loved his packed lunches when Grandpa was living with them. Like the whipped husband he was, he thought of continuing to do so.

When the flustered Taehyung offered to help in the cooking, Jungkook instantly shushed him. Taehyung then yelped because Jungkook had suddenly hoisted him in the air and made him sit on the granite counter of the kitchen, beside the stove. Giving a charming smile to Taehyung's bulged-out eyes, Jungkook replied, "No. You just sit here and watch me. Darling~" Popping a ripe strawberry into Taehyung's gaping mouth, Jungkook proceeded to smoothly waltz around the kitchen and begin his cooking preparation, starting off by tying the apron, exceptionally slowly. Using this chance to give a little show to his beloved audience, Jeon Taehyung.

Taehyung when again tried to offer his help, Jungkook shushed him mid-sentence by pecking his nose. Not being able to watch the other do all the work, Taehyung thought of sneakily helping him. He got Jungkook heavily invested in a random topic. While the other's attention was averted, Taehyung nodding his head, cleverly snatched the chopping board and knife from him. Thus, taking over the chopping job successfully.

A moment later when Jungkook realised the foul play, he playfully glared at the victorious male chopping a carrot on the board, placed on his lap. At getting caught, Taehyung sheepishly smiled which caused the kitchen to bubble with their hearty giggles.

This incident too became a routine for them, only they started sharing spicy gossip with each other. You don't know the way Taehyung's heart did somersaults whenever Jungkook actively participated in the gossip. It was amusing for Taehyung to witness Jungkook getting so invested in the little anecdotes and gossip he share from his University. Surprisingly, Jungkook was very into the Park-Park couple updates.

Taehyung can tell that Jungkook's interest in his stories and talks is genuine. He can see the other was not faking it and the knowledge of it just makes his heart soar with zeal. It also successfully tore down a few of the many walls Taehyung has built around himself. He felt comfortable enough with the latter to share and talk about anything, unfiltered. He knows and believes that Jungkook won't ever judge him for it.
