'Numb,' Taehyung's mind went numb after listening to Jungkook's love confession for the nth time. In contrast to his mind, his heart was exceptionally chaotic, pounding hard against his ribcage. He could hear his heartbeats in his ears. That was until Jungkook's troubled voice, calling out for his name oh-so-lovingly, filled his ears.
"Taehyung? You there? Are you alright?" Jungkook carefully mumbled as he waved his hand in front of Taehyung's face.
"Hmm... yeah?" Taehyung mumbled incoherently once he came out of his hazy thoughts. Taehyung's round, big and doe-like eyes stared at Jungkook's face innocently as his mind made efforts to process the whirlwind of events.
Had his heart not been in shambles, Jungkook would have taken time to coo at the adorable expression sprawled on Taehyung's face. Instead, he very carefully approached the said adorable being, "What's wrong, Tae? Won't you answer me?"
Seeing the stars in Jungkook's wondrous eyes and feeling the tender voice soothing his ears, Taehyung's eyes grew larger and his cheeks flushed pink. Now, Jungkook wasn't really able to hold in his fond chuckles, nor was he able to help himself from slipping into a playful mood. His emotional eyes instantly filled with amusement.
However the reaction he got baffled him. Out of the million ways he had anticipated Taehyung's reaction, running away from his was certainly not one of them. With his mouth agape, Jungkook watched Taehyung sprinting away from the hallway they were standing in.
"Wait! Where are you running off to?" Jungkook's question echoed in the hollow enclosure as his mind tried to make peace with the absurdity. Not a second wasted, Jungkook got on his feet to chase after his fleeting golden ram. Having an athletic advantage, Jungkook caught up to Taehyung in no time. Jungkook's hand caught hold of Taehyung's wrist and in a swift motion sprung the male around. Reuniting with the familiar pair of brown orbs that shined hazel under the amber lights, reverberated Jungkook's heartstrings.
To make sure that his golden ram doesn't run off again, he brought Taehyung's wrists behind the other's back and held them in place. In turn, trapping the warm body in between his arms. To the beautifully scared eyes of the other, Jungkook responded with soft, whipped eyes and a fond smile. The look only ripened the rich colour of Taehyung's complexion.
"Don't look at me... like that~" Taehyung trailed off in a small voice, finally breaking his and the grand living room's silence.
Challengingly, Jungkook crocked his one eyebrow up. Reeling the warm body closer, Jungkook asked, "Like what?"
"Like... like I'm someone precious to you..." Taehyung responded after having an internal struggle to put his flustered thought into a sensible sentence. Embarrassed by his statement, Taehyung looked away from the tenacious eyes of the other. But the little tugs on his waist, made him look back into them just as quickly.
"That's because you are extremely precious to me. You have become my whole world. Although I must say I've looked at you this way for a while now, it never bothered you before. I thought you had gotten used to it," Jungkook muttered in a husky voice.
"But it's different now~" Taehyung mindlessly mumbled in a whiny voice, his flesh heating under the loving yet suffocating gaze. Regret flashed all over his features as he realised that he said his thoughts out aloud. The action made Jungkook burst into another round of fond chuckles.
"How is it any different, now?" He asked amusedly in between his throaty chuckles.
"Because it actually means something now~" Taehyung replied, his lips forming a slight pout unintentionally. The sentence and pout caught Jungkook off guard. He swiped his tongue over his lips before looking up from Taehyung's and asking in an even huskier voice, "What does it mean, now?" Jungkook's eyes glowed with charm, the likes of a serpent, charming Taehyung with his beady eyes.
