[April 5th, Saturday. Present Day]
Sun shone once again over Bangtan City, bringing in a new and bright spring morning along with it. Along with illuminating millions of houses in the city, it illuminated Jeon's Penthouse too.
The clock on the kitchen wall read 10:00 am and Taehyung was up and busy, brewing a hot mug of espresso for himself in the kitchen. Things that transpired last night did not let him catch much sleep last night. Additionally, all that crying made his head ache like shit, so this mug was coffee was more of a necessity than a choice.
Elegantly, Taehyung brought the mug to his lips and took a small sip of the brown liquid. Instant regret! Yuck! He groaned in disgust, not liking the espresso's bitter taste. "How do people drink this shit?" He muttered, making disgusted faces while he quickly opened the sugar jar and added two teaspoons of sugar to it. Maybe two weren't enough, so he added one more before stirring the hot liquid. Begrudgingly, Taehyung took another sip and sighed in relief when the taste was much better. His tensed expressions fell back to their relaxed state again.
However, his relief was short-lived because not a second later, two hands caged his waist from behind. "Morning Beautiful~" The familiar husky voice greeted him at the shell of his ear when the arms pulled him in a warm back hug.
Taehyung's grip on the mug handle tightened as he felt Jungkook nuzzling his nose in his own neck. Inhaling a long whiff, Jungkook left a long peck on the neck before mumbling huskily, "You always smell so good... Hmm... Tae~"
It was so difficult for Taehyung to resist the inviting warmth of the other. Even after a whole month of him ignoring and behaving coldly with him, Jungkook for some sick reason hadn't stopped with his antics. No matter what arguments they have or the many mean and harsh things Taehyung said to the other, Jungkook would act unaffected the next morning. He'll act like nothing's changed between them and would keep on working his sick plans of playing with his heart.
"Not for long, though. This end's today!" Taehyung determined in his mind as he placed the ceramic mug on the counter. Sliding the document, which he had kept on the counter, towards Jungkook's field of vision, Taehyung asserted, "Read it." Yep, he came prepared.
Jungkook removed his head from Taehyung's neck and asked in a playful tone, "What are you making me read early in the morning, huh?" Having been used to the coldness, the other's words didn't phase him.
Taehyung, having nothing to respond with, kept his silence and instead went back to sipping his coffee. Thus, reinstating the fact that he is in no mood of playing around. Jungkook sighed heavily, this was nothing new but it didn't mean it didn't hurt him. It hurts and hurts like crazy. Regardless, Jungkook complying with Taehyung's demand detached himself from Taehyung's warm body and stood beside him.
Picking the papers up, Jungkook began reading them. His breath got knocked out of him the moment he read the title of the official document, "Divorce Agreement." With each letter he read, the task of reading became all the more difficult. They were just some mere words but they scared the life out of him. Just some terms and conditions were written, which if he agreed on and signed on would dissolve the last thread holding Taehyung to him. Such powerful papers were they? Withholding the power to separate them and make them strangers to each other. So it wasn't a surprise that Jungkook's hands trembled a bit as he read further into the document.
There were no demands made from Taehyung. He just wanted a clean, no ties left divorce. A perfect messless divorce, any divorcing person could only dream of. Well Jungkook isn't a divorcing person, is he now?
