"Ahem... may I have your attention, please, everyone?" Jungkook requested attention on himself, clinking the champagne flute with his fork.
Several eyes looked at him at once. The light-hearted chatter around the giant dining room died down. He got up from his seat and looked around the table, feeling grateful to be surrounded by people near and dear to him on his special day. Somewhere there was a wistful wish to have his parents around too, but he let go of that thought before it could drown his happy mood.
Taehyung's little squeeze on his palm did the rest for him. He smiled and before the other could pull his hand away he grabbed it in a warm grip. Clearing his throat he spoke, "I'd like to make a toast, everyone. First off, I want to thank you all for making it to this small get-together. It means a lot to me that I get to celebrate my birthday with people who are very close to my heart." He glanced at everyone to convey his heartfelt gratitude better.
"Secondly, let's address the elephant in the room. I know you all have your doubts and theories, most of which are definitely true. I and Taehyung are grateful that you guys understood our situation and let us have this moment," Jungkook spoke with a happy grin, his grin widened looking at the excited faces. It was like watching football enthusiasts witnessing their team hit the winning strike.
He looked down at Taehyung, squeezed their joined hands and announced, "To let us have this moment to announce that Taehyung is pregnant and we are having a baby!"
The room erupted with screams of joy. "We freaking knew it!" They unanimously recited while the couple laughed wholeheartedly. To congratulate the soon-to-be parents, everyone got up for their seats. Giving warm hugs to the overjoyed couple, they all gave their congratulations, most of them trying to bribe their way into becoming Godparents of the blessed baby on the way.
"Brat! I can't believe you are going to become a father!" Grandpa Jeon cheered, wiping his happy tears. Jungkook gave the emotional man a hug. "Thank you, Grandpa, " He mumbled.
"All the hugs for Grandpa what about your Hyung?" Jin spoke from behind the duo.
"I was getting to you too~" Jungkook rolled his eyes, earning a smack. "Yah! Be grateful, Hyung bought you your meals! I raised you too!" Jin fired, offended but nonetheless hugged his little brother. "I'm so happy for you, Kookie!" He spoke in the hug.
He was snatched from the hug into another, "Jaykay~ My brother! Congratulations, bro!" Hoseok cheered in his infamous bright voice. [A/N: here comes the waterworks... Hobi... no! 🥹]
Jungkook laughed at the enthusiasm and hugged back, "Thank you, bro!"
"Congratulations, Kook!" Yoongi popped from behind Hoseok, patting his shoulder.
