Natsuki POV
I had made the cupcakes in a batch of sixteen, so we could have four each. Four were covered in green icing, four in blue, four in pink and four in purple. It was in a special swirl which I had created myself. To top it off, I had found some white chocolate hearts in the back of my cupboard which thankfully were still in date. I had sprinkled them over the cupcakes, and I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but they looked incredible.
Yuri will definatly like me now. I couldn't help thinking. I was trying to ignore the thoughts of Yuri hating the cupcakes. What if they all hated them?
Tch don't be a dummy I forced myself to think. I was walking down the corridor to the clubroom, carrying the cupcakes in a large tuppaware box.
"Heyy!" I cried, as I opened the door, and at once the whole club exclaimed in delight.
"CUPCAKESS!!" Yelled Sayori, and she and Monika crowded around me excitedly. Yuri joined them timidly, but her eyes lit up at the cupcakes.
"One at a time!" I ordered laughing, "See, they're our colours. Green for Monika, blue for Sayori, pink for me and purple for Yuri."
"Wow!" exclaimed Monika, "I truly didn't expect this Natsuki, thank you so much!"
"You haven't tried them yet!" I said, but her words made me feel so happy. I remembered when I was younger and showed my dad my little cupcakes, only for him yell at me for wasting ingrediants.
I shook my head to chase thoughts of my dad out of my head. "C'mon, I'm starting with pink, because it's my colour."
Monika and Sayori nodded and said, "Me too," picking up their cupcakes.
Yuri seemed to consider the cupcakes a little bit, then picked up a blue one, "I'm going to save my purple one for last." She murmered.
"Saving the best for last I see." Chuckled Monika.
"Can we eat them already? I'm soooo hungry!" Whined Sayori.
They all glanced at me, so I laughed and said, "Of course!"
We all took a bit out of our cupcakes. I looked at them carefully, did they like it?
"Wow Natsuki! This is-" Monika seemed lost for words.
"SOOOO GOOOD!" Yelled Sayori, who somehow got chocolate and blue icing all around her mouth. Monika sighed, and tried to wipe Sayori's mouth, who was struggling away laughing.
I sidled up to Yuri, who also seemed lost for words.
"Do you like it?" I asked her. I waited anxiously for her answer, until she replied.
"Natsuki, I- I don't think I've ever eaten so delicious." She murmered. She sounded casual, but blushed, and looked away, "Th-that sounded strange. S-sorry."
"What! N-no!" I exclaimed, a little too loudly, "That's not strange at all... uh your welcome."
She still looked embarrased, but thankfully Monika said at that moment, "Ok everyone! Time to share poems, we can eat cupcakes while sharing!"
I turned to Yuri. "Wanna share poems?" I asked.
She nodded and retrieved her poem from her bag while I pulled it from my pocket.
Yum by Natsuki
I cannot help but stop and look at the warm supper.
Does the supper make you shiver?
does it?
I cannot help but stop and look at the hot soup.
Never forget the heat of soup in winter.Just like the warm feeling in your chest.
"Yum", said the girl,
And "yum" then "yum" again
Yuri stared blankly at the peice of paper.
"I know you said I could write a short story." I blurted out, "But I wanted to try to write a poem." I glanced at her anxiously as she stared at my poem.
"This is your first poem?" She aksed finally.
"I think so." I replied, "I might have written poetry when I was little but I haven't written any in ages."
She stared at the poem again, and the anxious knot in my stomach tightened.
"It's... very good for a first poem." She looked up at me, "Like... really good. You have a very clear style. I like it a lot. It suits you." She seemed to think for a second, "The writing is very simple, which I assume is what you were going for? Right?"
"Right, yeah." I muttered. The way she was looking at my poem made me oddly uncomfortable. "Um... do you have any feedback?"
"Hmm... " she drew her eyebrows together, making a little crinkle in the space between them. It was oddly cute. "Its a bit to simple, maybe try and use more mature language." She looked up at me. "Do you want to see my poem?" She asked.
"Sure!"
I took her poem and began to read
Heyy, I hope you enjoyed this chapter :) I used a poem generator website to make Natsuki's poem. Please comment suggestions since I don't really have a plot so comment some ideas for the story and I'll try and add them :)
