Natsuki POV
It took me ages to go to sleep. Not because Yuri was loud or anything, in fact she was so quiet I had to keep checking to make sure she wasn't dead. I finally fell asleep at around 3am and was promptly woken up by my phone ringing.
I answered and my heart dropped. It was papa.
"Natsuki?! What the FUCK are you spending your money on?!" I heard my papa's voice crackle from the other side of the line.
"Wh-" I gasped. I remembered with an uncomfortable jolt that I had ordered macdonalds before going to Yuri's house. I cursed myself for being so stupid. "I'm s-ssorry papa!" I gasped, "Please- I won't do it again!"
"You'd better not!" He growled, "I'm not slaving away so you can waste money on some shit you call food! IS THIS WHAT I WORK HARD FOR?! SO YOU CAN EAT LIKE A FUCKING PIG?!"
"No papa!" I sniffed, "I'm sorry I wont do it again I promise- just please don't shout!"
"Please don't shout! HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO LEARN YOU STUPID GIRL?!" Papa bellowed. I winced and nearly dropped my phone. Tears were streaming down my face. "IF I COULD I WOULD COME HOME AND BEAT YOU! IT'S WHAT YOU FUCKING DESERVE!" I really did drop my phone at that. Papa wouldn't actually fly home just to beat me would he-?! The bruises had only just healed and he had been gone for weeks.
"A-are you going to come home?!" I asked trembling. I knew what answer I wanted.
"No." He growled and I exhaled, "Fortuantly for you. Just tell me you won't eat that shit ok? It'll make you fat and ugly, and nobody would want you. Nobody does anyway, but eating shit like that wont help got it?"
"Yes." I whispered.
"GOT IT?!"
"Y-yes!" I gasped louder. "I promise. I'll only eat good food from now on. I'll be a good girl."
"That's what I want to hear." He grunted. Then with a click, he left.
What I great start to Christmas Day I thought, furiously wiping tears from my eyes. I checked Yuri's mirror and thankfully my eyes weren't too puffy and red.
I made my way downstairs. A scent of roast turkey wafted up to my nose and I sniffed hungrily. It took my a while to find the kitchen - how did Yuri manage to not get lost in this place?! It was way to huge for my liking.
I found Yuri in the kitchen, looking harrased, but she smiled when she saw me.
"Natsuki! You're awake." She said pleasently. She showed no hint about what happened last night. If a kiss on the cheek even was something. "I'm just making christmas dinner, but I've never made one before um-" She checked the oven and pulled out a tray of potatoes. "It was only supposed to be for one person, but we can share. I didn't expect you to..." She was distracted by glancing at a cllock and gasping, "The turkey!"
"I could've helped dummy!" I pouted.
"In your pyjamas?" She asked skeptically.
"Yeah so?" I retorted, "I just woke up!"
"Um... it is nearly noon." She was smiling as though she was trying to hold back a laugh.
"HUH?!" I screeched, "HOW LONG WAS I ASLEEP?!"
"Very long I'm afraid." Yuri chuckled, "You looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake you."
"Perv! Watching me sleep." I muttered, tossing some hair out of my hair, "I'm going to get dressed."
"Ok, by the time you're dressed, I think I'll be done!" Yuri smiled down at me, which made my cheeks feel hot.
As I ran upstairs, I realised that I had forgotten about my father. The memories of my papa came flooding back, but they had ceased the moment I had seen Yuri. What the fuck was up with that? Normally the aftermath of papa's shouts burned in my mind and controlled my thoughts and what I said. But seeing Yuri made those thoughts vanish completely. I shook my head, it must be because papa had only shouted over the phone, not in person. That must be it, not becuase I liked Yuri or anything...
