Karaoke Night (14)

Lucía ran up from her bed the moment she looked at the time. She was supposed to be at work 10 minutes ago. Lucía even forgot to change out of her pyjamas, that's how much stress she was under. Once she made it to work, Vince and Amelia couldn't help but laugh.

"What is it?" Lucía rolled her eyes. "I love your shirt" Amelia covered her mouth with her hand. "What are you?- oh dear god" Lucía looked down to see what she was wearing. She noticed that she was still in her pyjamas. "A 'buritto cat' shirt is quite fitting for your job" Vince cackled. "Okay you guys, this should count as bullying" Lucía burried her face in her hands.

"No I think it's adorable" Amelia continued to laugh. "Did both of you idiots completely forget that there are literal customers sitting in here, right now, drinking their coffees" Vince waved his hands around the room. "Eh, who gives?" Lucía walked around the counter. "Are you seriously going to work in that?" Vince said concerned.

"Actually, yes. Don't judge me when you've got those shoes on" Lucía could barely hold back her laugh. "I'm going to fire you" Vince jokingly threatened Lucía. "How about you set those shoes on fire first" Lucía couldn't hold it in any longer. Amelia couldn't help but laugh too. "Who wants her to be fired?" Vince asked everybody at the room.

Everybody just ignored him and went back to what they were doing 10 seconds ago. "Ha, I got to keep my job. Keep asking stuff like that and those shoes of yours will be gone real soon" Lucía couldn't stop herself, she was on a real roll today. "That's it. You're dead Noceda!" Vince got up from his table. Lucía ran behind Amelia immediately. "You scared baby?" Amelia smirked at Lucía.

"Don't call me that at work" Lucía blushed. She so obviously enjoyed it, but was she really going to let Amelia call her baby in public? absolutely not. "Stop acting like a married couple before I decide to fire both of you" Vince rolled his eyes. "How about- ah yeah I've got nothing" Lucía couldn't think about another shoe joke.

"Back to work cat lady!" Vince said. "You're annoying, but since you're my manager, I won't do anything" Lucía crossed her arms. She put on her apron and took care of all the orders Amelia was making. "Happy you're here, baby" Amelia bursted out laughing. "You- I'm about to die over here calm down with the nicknames" Lucía pulled Amelia towards her.

"I will call the police if you two start making out right here, right now" Vince stared at the two girls as he picked up the phone. "Don't worry, we'll do it in the closet" Lucía grinned. "Great, go back to where you came from" Vince cackled. "How'd you even manage to think of that?" Amelia chuckled.

"I used to perform as a comedic at my dad's job when I was 15" Vince admitted proudly. "Now that's, that's an achievement" Lucía clapped. "Thank you, thank you" Vince bowed. "Anyways, WORK!" Vince hurried Amelia and Lucía.

Both girls quickly ran separate ways. The two continued working and serving customers, until Luz barged into the coffeehouse. "LUCÍA?" Luz shouted from across the coffeehouse. Lucía ran towards her and pulled her into a corner. "Why are you screaming?!" Lucía quietly screamed at Luz.

"This one girl in my grade.. well, she's been picking on me and Willow" Luz frowned. "Do you want me to handle it?" Lucía asked her. "Ofcourse I want you to handle it! why else am I here?" Luz looked at her sister with a confused expression. "You were gonna order a donut..? but I can't, I'm working" Lucía replied.

"Ask if you can get off work for a few minutes, please?" Luz begged. "Ugh fine" Lucía walked over to Vince. "Some girl is picking on my sister, and I was wondering if you could let me go for a few minutes so that I can go and handle it" Lucía told Vince.

"Even though that's sad, I dont believe you! so I'll only let you go if Amelia goes with you" Vince said. "Fine, but who's gonna take care of all the orders?" Lucía asked. "Do you think I'm not capable enough to make coffee?" Vince rolled his eyes.
