Part 17

"Shekhar you started practicing again!! Wow that's so great.. you are gonna soon play for the country now!!", Mahi said happily as Shekhar said that he had started practicing after a long break.

Mahi had come to his hometown for his holidays. He was already selected for the team and was the captain.

"Why don't you keep phone? Here we meet hardly once in six months", Mahi said as they don't speak often now..

Shekhar smiled and said, "I think it's better this way as we have to wait to meet to each other.. which I think is great"

Mahi didn't like that but agreed anyway.

"You know there are new guys who joined the team. They are so talented specially two kids... Rohit and Virat! I call them Ro and Cheeku and they call me Mahi bhai! They are so amazing! Literally my kiddos they are!!", Mahi said smiling fondly.

Shekhar felt weird hearing that but still kept a smile on his face.

"I know you will join the team soon.. I am just waiting so that u can meet them u know!", Mahi said excitedly.

When Mahi returned to the tour again.. as the days passed all Shekhar could see was "MahiRat" that is bonding between Mahi and Virat. All he saw was the pics of Virat clinging to Mahi. And love and care in Mahi's eyes.

Also there was "MahiRo" after that.. Mahi tweeting about Rohit being the best!! He promoted him up the order which helped him..

Virat and Rohit thanking MS in press conferences and Mahi praising them!! It irked him..

He felt as if he was replaced by someone in Mahi's life. Because even if Mahi had come back to Ranchi for somedays all he would talk about Virat or was busy with him on the phone.

Mahi never attended phone calls but in 2014 as Virat going through a rough phase he had to attend his calls so that he doesn't loose his kiddo to the trolls.

"Mahi I have hope that now selection committee will select me! I have performed so well in domestics", Shekhar said nudging Mahi.

"That's great!! I am so happy", Mahi said genuinely feeling happy for him.

Mahi woke up from the dream.. he was dreaming about his days with Shekhar! He wiped his face which was covered in sweat. He looked at the watch and it was 3 am in night. He tried to get up but he was tangled by Virat.

Virat was sleeping with his head in Mahi's chest. He was holding him tightly in his sleep. Mahi just held him and tried to sleep again.

Next morning:

"Cheeku get up kiddo! How much you are gonna sleep? Wanna give competition to Ro? Get up Bacha!", Mahi said softly caressing his hair.

Virat mumbled, "man nahi hai uthne ka" and he hide his face more in the blanket.

"Cheeku have breakfast then u can rest more! Come on now get up and get freshen up.. Ro would be waiting for us", Mahi said softly to which Virat got up.

They reached the dining area.. Virat was feeling a lot better now.

"Where is Rohit??", Virat asked bhuvi as they sat for breakfast.

"He had some work in the morning and he also told he is gonna meet ur doctor and come", bhuvi informed.

"I am okay now why he has to meet my doctor!!", Virat said irritatedly as he didn't meet Rohit since morning..

"Vi.. tu toh aise behave kar raha hai jaise he is cheating on you!! And how u didn't see his glimpse since morning".. Jaddu said laughing at him and everyone joined him.

Virat pouted at that and sat there eating his breakfast along with Mahi.

Once they were done with their breakfast.. Mahi had gone to some meeting and Virat was in his room.

"Robert next step?", Virat asked him.

"Sir we will require a little time to release that.. if we are cross checked toh we would need a reliable source and I am trying to get that source", Robert answered.

"Hurry up please", Virat said wanting to end this very very soon.

"Sir don't say please I am working on it and will do it asap", Robert said and hanged up the call.

Virat sighed at that and had a bad feeling about everything. He just wanted to end this all somehow.

Mahi arrived from the meeting and saw Virat sitting on the bed having a bored look on his face..

"Kya ho Gaya??", Mahi asked sitting beside him.

Before Virat could complain and whine how much he wanted all to be okay... his phone rang.

Mahi thought it may be Anushka so he left the room giving him space.

"Hello", Virat answered seeing the number it was unknown..

"Virat.. Virat!! How are you my friend? Didn't release anything today??", Shekhar said in his evil voice..

"How do u know that?? Why are you calling me?", Virat asked annoyed and surprised by that.

Shekhar smirked evilly which Virat could literally feel through the call. He said, "because ur source is dead!! And now u will know the result of messing with me!!", he hanged up the call leaving Virat whole confused.

Virat didn't know what he was saying so he was gonna call Robert bit before he could do that he received notification on his phone. He opened it and his blood boiled... his face was white as a sheet seeing that.. it sent shivers down his spine!!

"Rohit.." he whispered caressing the screen with his fingers..

Rohit was tied on the chair... his hands and feet were bleeding. His forehead and lip were cut... he looked so hurt and tired!!

"How is my gift??", Shekhar said video calling him.. he was pressing the wounds of Rohit.. Rohit screamed loudly as he didn't know Virat was on the call...

Virat hissed at that.. he was literally feeling wounds of Rohit.. tears were flowing through both of their eyes... Rohit was of pain and Virat was of guilt...

"Your best friend.. here taking slow breaths!! You underestimated me Virat!! Now u will see... and no negotiations this time.. u have give me remaining proofs.. and I will leave him alive.. choose fast! U have 2 hours only!! Bye", he said..

"Hello.. hello... Rohit.. Ro", Virat screamed but call was hanged up already..

He touched his another weak nerve and targeted his relation.. he will not leave him!! But he had to take care that Rohit comes out of there alive!!! He will do anything to keep him safe.
